Frank Keenan
Frank Keenan (born James Francis Keenan; April 8, 1858 – February 24, 1929) was an American stage and film actor and stage director and manager during the silent-film era. He was among the first stage actors to star in Hollywood, and he pursued work in film features for a number of years. Early life Born to Irish Catholic parents in Dubuque, Iowa, Keenan acquired his education both there and at Boston College. Career In New York, he became a star, a celebrated Shakespearean actor who later specialized in ''King Lear.'' He was a noted Broadway matinee idol, and his name appeared at the top of showbills. He acted in such hits as ''The Capitol,'' ''A Poor Relation'' and '' The Girl of the Golden West''. He played the title role in '' Macbeth'' opposite Nance O'Neil. At one point, he briefly operated his own theater, the Berkeley Lyceum in New York, which brought him recognition as both actor and director. Lucille Ward
Lucille Ward (February 25, 1880 – August 8, 1952) was an American film actress. She appeared in more than 140 films between 1915 and 1944. She was born and died in Dayton, Ohio. Ward's career began in 1907 when she acted in a production of ''Monte Cristo'' in New York. After a dozen years of performing in musical comedies, stock theater, and vaudeville, Ward began acting in films. Ward was married to Chauncey Smith, who died in 1949. Frances Raymond
Frances Raymond (1869–1961) was an American stage and film actress.Goble p.193 An established character actress, she played in a number of supporting roles during the silent era. Later, during the sound era, she primarily played much smaller, uncredited parts. Raymond was the daughter of Frederick Lapzieu of Brooklyn. Career Raymond's acting career ended in 1894. She acted with the Frohman road companies and had been performing in ''The Girl I Left Behind Me'' in Memphis when she and the management parted ways. Management of Charles Frohman's company said that she had been incompetent, while she said that she angered a company official by resisting his advances. Turning from acting to writing, Raymond spent almost three years working on a novel, ''Maylou'', which the G. W. Dillingham Company published in 1897. Critics attacked the book's plot and style, compounding its lack of success while creating "a sort of ephemeral notoriety" for it. That lack of success led to her beco ...
