Frances Raymond
Frances Raymond (1869–1961) was an American stage and film actress.Goble p.193 An established character actress, she played in a number of supporting roles during the silent era. Later, during the sound era, she primarily played much smaller, uncredited parts. Raymond was the daughter of Frederick Lapzieu of Brooklyn. Career Raymond's acting career ended in 1894. She acted with the Frohman road companies and had been performing in ''The Girl I Left Behind Me'' in Memphis when she and the management parted ways. Management of Charles Frohman's company said that she had been incompetent, while she said that she angered a company official by resisting his advances. Turning from acting to writing, Raymond spent almost three years working on a novel, ''Maylou'', which the G. W. Dillingham Company published in 1897. Phyllis Virginia "Bebe" Daniels (January 14, 1901 – March 16, 1971) was an American actress, singer, dancer, writer, and producer. She began her career in Hollywood during the silent film era as a child actress, became a star in musicals such as '' Rio Rita'', and later gained further fame on radio and television in Britain. Over the course of her 50-year career, Daniels appeared in 230 films. Early life and career Daniels was born Phyllis Virginia Daniels (Bebe was a childhood nickname) in Dallas, Texas. Her father was a travelling theater manager, Scottish-born Melville Daniel MacNeal, who changed his name to Danny Daniels after a disagreement with his own father over his ambition to change from the medical profession to show business. ''One Wild Week'' is a lost 1921 American silent comedy romance film directed by Maurice Campbell and starring Bebe Daniels. Adolph Zukor produced the film through his Realart Pictures Corporation. Plot As described in a film magazine, Pauline Hathaway (Daniels) attains her eighteenth birthday was the ward of a spinster aunt and learns that she is heir to a small fortune provided she keeps her name out of the newspapers for a period of six months. She goes to visit an old friend of her mother and is falsely arrested for theft. After giving a fictitious name, she is sent to the woman's reformatory. She escapes with three other inmates and makes her way to the home of her hostess followed by her aunt and others who have become involved in the search for her.
