Smallegade (1899)
Smallegade ( lit. "Narrow Street") is a busy shopping street in the central part of Frederiksberg in Copenhagen, Denmark. It runs from the Town Hall Square in the east to Fasanvej in the west, along the north side of Frederiksberg Town Hall and Frederiksberg Park, linking Gammel Kongevej with Peter Bangs Vej. On the other side of the Town Hall is Bredegade (literally "Broad Street"), now smaller than Smallegade, which after a while joins Smallegade at Møstings Hus, an 18th-century country house-turned-exhibitions space, which overlooks a small pond. History It is believed that Bredegade was the main street of Solbjerg, a village inhabited by Dutch farmers until the 1620s when it was shut down by Christian IV. Smallegade was also one of the original "Dutch" streets but more open than Bredegade, with fields on its north side in between the scattered buildings. Frank Hvam
Frank Hvam Nielsen, known professionally as Frank Hvam (born 12 September 1970) is a Danish stand-up-comedian. Hvam was born in Viborg and grew up on a farm in Ørum Sønderlyng. His legal name is Nielsen, but he uses only his middle name professionally. After studying veterinary medicine for 3 and a half years, he dropped out to try his luck as a comedian. He is known for his performance as the "geek" Kenny Nickelman in the Danish sitcom '' Langt fra Las Vegas'' and as a writer and performer in the Pythonesque comedy '' Casper og Mandrilaftalen''. Casper Lindholm Christensen (born 22 August 1968) is a Danish comedian. He has hosted many shows including ''Casper & Mandrilaftalen'', the Danish airing of '' Shooting Stars'' and ''Don't Forget Your Toothbrush'' ('' Husk lige tandbørsten''), and the Danish version of ''Deal or No Deal''. Klovn
''Klovn'' ("Clown") is a Danish sitcom, which first aired on the Danish TV channel TV2 Zulu. It focuses on the life of the main character Frank (played by Frank Hvam) and Casper (played by Casper Christensen). The show builds its comedy around quiet everyday situations, social awkwardness, uncomfortable silences and general faux pas. ''Klovn'' shares many concepts with the American sitcom ''Curb Your Enthusiasm'' by Larry David, notably the main concept of a semi-retired comedian encountering humorous and embarrassing situations, along with his wife, friends and celebrity acquaintances. TV 2 (''TV to'') is a Danish government-owned broadcast and subscription television station in Denmark based in Odense, Funen. History Since 1949, Danmarks Radio had been the sole provider of television in Denmark. Kjeld Petersen
Kjeld Petersen (1 July 1920 – 24 May 1962) was a Danish film and stage actor. He appeared in 41 films between 1945 and 1962, and also enjoyed successes as dramatic stage actor and revue comedian, particularly in a crazy comedy duo with Dirch Passer, under the name "The Kellerdirk Brothers", lasting through the 1950s until his death. He was born in Copenhagen and died in Frederiksberg, Denmark, suffering a stroke in his home following a successful opening performance at the ABC Theatre in which he performed alongside Passer. Porcelænshaven in the Frederiksberg district of Copenhagen, Denmark, is the former premises of the Royal Porcelain Manufactury, an industrial complex dating from the 1880s which was converted into a mixed-use neighbourhood in the 2000s.
