Slávek Horák
Slávek Horák (born 12 January 1975 in Zlín) is a Czech film director, screenwriter and actor. He is a graduate of Zlin Film School and also studied directing at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU). His rapid career growth as a director of various international commercial campaigns prevented him from finishing his FAMU studies, but also earned him several awards at International Advertising festivals. He shot two short films for international project Straight8 that were selected in top six and shown at the Cannes Film Festival. He also worked as an assistant director with Jan Sverak on his Academy Award winning film '' Kolja'' (1996). In 2012 he started his own production company TVORBA films. '' Home Care'' is his feature debut. Zlín
Zlín (in 1949–1989 Gottwaldov; ; german: Zlin) is a city in the Czech Republic. It has about 73,000 inhabitants. It is the seat of the Zlín Region and it lies on the Dřevnice river. It is known as an industrial centre. The development of the modern city is closely connected to the Bata Shoes company and its social scheme, developed after the World War I. A large part of the city is urbanistically and architecturally valuable and is protected by law as an urban monument zone. Film And TV School Of The Academy Of Performing Arts In Prague
The Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague ( cs, Filmová a televizní fakulta Akademie múzických umění v Praze) or FAMU is a film school in Prague, Czech Republic, founded in 1946 as one of three branches of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. It is the fifth oldest film school in the world. The teaching language on most courses at FAMU is Czech, but FAMU also runs certain courses in English. The school has repeatedly been included on lists of the best film schools in the world by ''The Hollywood Reporter''. ''Havel'' is a 2020 Czech historical film based on the life of dissident and former Czech president Václav Havel. It is directed by Slávek Horák and stars Viktor Dvořák. The film focuses on Havel's life from 1968 to 1989, when he was a dissident under the communist regime, as well as his relationship with his wife Olga and friend Pavel Landovský.
