Slugdge
Slugdge is a British extreme metal band, formed in Lancashire, England, in 2012. Originally a studio project headed by former No Sin Evades His Gaze guitarist Kevin Pearson and vocalist Matthew Moss, in 2018 the group expanded into a full lineup with the addition of No Sin Evades His Gaze bassist Matthew Lowe, and The Black Dahlia Murder drummer Alan Cassidy. The group has released four studio albums to date. History Slugdge was originally formed by friends Kevin Pearson and Matt Moss in 2012, as a response to the amount of sludge metal groups named after animals. Inspired by Akercocke, the group themed their songs around a fictional cosmic slug deity called "Mollusca". No Sin Evades His Gaze
No Sin Evades His Gaze are a British heavy metal band, formed in 2013 by former Ravenface vocalist James Denton. Career The band released their debut album titled "Age of Sedation" in July 2014, alongside a music video for the eponymous track. The album was met with critical acclaim, with Metal Hammer calling the band "the future of heavy tech" and The Guardian stating "Whilst it’s slightly sickening that people so young can play their instruments to such an insanely high level, the resultant racket is undeniably thrilling". Prior to the album's release, the band released the track "Age of Sedation" via Planet Rock Radio on 2 May 2014, and the track "Roll Up The Royalty" via Metal Hammer on 10 June 2014. Blackened death metal (also known as black death metal) is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal that fuses elements of black metal and death metal. The genre emerged in early 1990s when black metal bands began incorporating elements of death metal and vice versa. The genre typically employs death growls, tremolo picking, blast beats, and Satanic lyrics and imagery. Bands of the genre typically employ corpse paint, which was adapted from black metal. Akercocke are an English extreme metal band from London, formed in 1997 by Jason Mendonça and David Gray. The band also features Paul Scanlan and Nathanael Underwood. History Akercocke's first album, '' Rape of the Bastard Nazarene'', was self-released by the band in 1999. Akercocke later signed to Peaceville Records, releasing '' The Goat of Mendes'' in 2001, which reached number 4 in Terrorizer's album of the year chart. Sludge metal (also known as sludge doom or simply sludge) is an Extreme metal, extreme subgenre of heavy metal music that combines elements of doom metal and hardcore punk. The genre generally includes slow tempos, down-tuned guitars and nihilistic lyrics discussing poverty, drug addiction and pollution.
