Slovnaft is an oil refining company in Slovakia. The company, located in Bratislava, is a subsidiary of MOL Group. History Slovnaft is the successor of the Apollo company. Apollo was established in 1895 in Bratislava. Its refinery was bombarded by the Allies in June 1944. Bratislava Apollo Bridge built over Danube is in proximity to the Apollo refinery historical site. The Slovnaft refinery started to be built in 1949. On 1 May 1992, Slovnaft was reorganized as a joint-stock company, as successor to a state enterprise formed by the Czechoslovak Republic government on 1 January 1949. The Druzhba pipeline (russian: нефтепровод «Дружба»; also has been referred to as the Friendship Pipeline and the Comecon Pipeline) is one of the world's longest oil pipelines and one of the largest oil pipeline networks in the world. It began operation in 1964 and remains in operation in 2022. It carries oil some from the eastern part of European Russia to points in Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany. Apollo Bridge ( sk, Most Apollo, provisionally known as ''Most Košická'' during construction, after the street leading to it) in Bratislava is a road bridge over the Danube in the capital of Slovakia.
