Slovenia In The Eurovision Song Contest 2012
Slovenia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with the song "Verjamem" written by Vladimir Graić, Hari Mata Hari and Igor Pirkovič. The song was performed by Eva Boto. Slovenian broadcaster Radiotelevizija Slovenija (RTV Slovenija) organised the national final ''Misija EMA 2012'' in order to select the Slovenian entry for the 2012 contest in Baku, Azerbaijan. Two finalists selected through the talent selection ''Misija Evrovizija'' competed in the national final where the winner was selected over two rounds of voting. In the first round, each finalist performed three songs and the top two entries were selected by a four-member jury panel and a public vote. In the second round, "Verjamem" performed by Eva Boto was selected as the winner entirely by a public vote. Slovenia was drawn to compete in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 24 May 2012. Manuella (1809 – after 1831) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare who won the classic Oaks Stakes at Epsom Downs Racecourse in 1812. Unraced as a two-year-old, the Northern-trained filly was fancied to win The Derby on her racecourse debut but finished unplaced. She won the Oaks a day later, but was beaten when favourite for the St Leger Stakes. She won two more races (one of them a walkover) and changed hands more than once before being retired from racing at the end of the 1814 season. Nika Zorjan (born 3 December 1992) is a Slovenian singer and songwriter. Zorjan began her music career in 2010 as a contestant on the first season of ''Slovenija ima talent'', the Slovenian version of ''Got Talent'', later signing with Raay Music, the record label of Slovene duo Maraaya. She made her debut in 2012 with the single "Čas za nas", which was written by Maraaya. Maraaya are a Slovenian duo founded by Marjetka Vovk and Aleš Vovk (Raay) in 2014. The group's name is a combination of its members' names, while its pronunciation means "She has Raay" in Slovene. Raay is credited as co-writer and producer for many Slovenian artists.
