Slightly Stoopid
Slightly Stoopid is an American band based in the Ocean Beach neighborhood of San Diego, California, who describe their music as "a fusion of folk, rock, reggae and blues with hip-hop, funk, metal and punk." As a band, they have released thirteen albums (four live), with their ninth studio album entitled ''Everyday Life, Everyday People'' on July 13, 2018. The band was originally signed by Bradley Nowell from the band Sublime to his label Skunk Records while still in high school. History Founding, early releases (1994–2007) In 1994, Slightly Stoopid was formed in Ocean Beach, California by Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald, both childhood friends, as well as high school friend and drummer Adam Bausch. Slightly Stoopid (album)
''Slightly $toopid'' is the first full-length album by Slightly Stoopid and was released in 1996 on Skunk Records. On the original 1996 Skunk Records print, the CD included two hidden tracks after "To a Party." The first hidden song is "Prophet" with the late Bradley Nowell of Sublime playing bass. The second hidden song is "Marley Medley" which contains "Guava Jelly" and "This Train," both Bob Marley covers. The printing was very limited at an estimated 1000 copies. Since the original prints were made before Slightly Stoopid were well known, they are rare and hard to come by. Original prints used to sell on eBay consistently at around $300 because of its out of print status and the demand for the hidden track with Bradley Nowell. ''Chronchitis'' is American band Slightly Stoopid's fifth studio album, produced by Mario C, Paul Leary, Miguel and Chris DiBeneditto, released on August 7, 2007 on Stoopid Records/Controlled Substance Sound Labs. Hopeton Overton Brown (born 18 April 1960 in Kingston, Jamaica) is a recording engineer and producer who rose to fame in the 1980s mixing dub music as "Scientist". John Brown's Body (band)
John Brown's Body is an eight-piece reggae and dub band based out of Ithaca, New York and Boston, Massachusetts. They have been together for two decades and have been hailed as "Future Roots, Reggae and Dub with an intricately balanced weaving of vocals, percussion, keyboard, bass, guitar and a stunning three-piece horn section that ties it all together" (WRUV). John Brown's Body (or JBB) is building "a legacy that has inspired and carved a path for the now thriving contemporary American reggae scene" (Rudeboy Reggae). Long Beach Shortbus
Long Beach Shortbus was an American reggae-influenced punk band from Long Beach, California, United States. The band consists of four regular members: RAS-1 (lead vocals and guitar), Trey Pangborn (guitar), Eric Wilson (bass guitar) and Damion Ramirez (drums). Shortbus originated as a side project of RAS-1 and Eric Wilson, eventually taking shape after the Long Beach Dub Allstars disbanded in 2002. Their first CD was a self-titled EP and featured their hit "California Grace." Their second CD was entitled ''Flying Ship of Fantasy'', featuring tracks from their first album.
