''Chronchitis'' is American band Slightly Stoopid's fifth studio album, produced by Mario C, Paul Leary, Miguel and Chris DiBeneditto, released on August 7, 2007 on Stoopid Records/Controlled Substance Sound Labs. This album features artists such as G Love, Guru of Gang Starr, Angelo Moore of Fishbone, Toko Tasi and Money Mark. The album debuted at number 55 on the U.S. ''Billboard'' 200, selling about 12,000 copies in its first week. ''Chronichitis'' was released in Japan on June 4, 2008 on Powerslave Records with six bonus tracks. Slightly Stoopid
Slightly Stoopid is an American band based in the Ocean Beach neighborhood of San Diego, California, who describe their music as "a fusion of folk, rock, reggae and blues with hip-hop, funk, metal and punk." As a band, they have released thirteen albums (four live), with their ninth studio album entitled ''Everyday Life, Everyday People'' on July 13, 2018. The band was originally signed by Bradley Nowell from the band Sublime to his label Skunk Records while still in high school. History Founding, early releases (1994–2007) In 1994, Slightly Stoopid was formed in Ocean Beach, California by Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald, both childhood friends, as well as high school friend and drummer Adam Bausch. Angelo Moore
Angelo Carmen Christopher Moore (born November 5, 1965) is an American musician, best known for his work as lead singer and saxophonist for the Los Angeles ska and funk metal band Fishbone. Moore also performs and records under the stage name Dr. Madd Vibe. Biography Moore grew up in Southern California's San Fernando Valley and attended Hale Junior High School in Woodland Hills, where he met the other members of Fishbone's original lineup. Moore's father played saxophone for Count Basie, and his parents exposed him to jazz, soul and funk music. He then attended El Camino Real High School in Woodland Hills. In addition to his regular duties with Fishbone, in 1993 Moore released a poetry anthology titled ''Dr. Madd Vibe's Comprehensive Linkology''. Mark Ramos Nishita (born February 10, 1960), known professionally as Money Mark, is an American producer and musician, best known for his collaborations with the Beastie Boys from 1992 until 2011. Early life Born in Detroit to a Japanese-Hawaiian father and a Chicano mother, Nishita moved with his family to Los Angeles, California when he was six. Career His first album ''Mark's Keyboard Repair'' (1995), was made up of keyboard driven pop-funk songs recorded at demo quality. Guy Ritchie used a song from the album in ''Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels''. This was followed up by the ''Third Version EP'' in 1996 and '' Push the Button'' in 1998, for which Mark received critical praise. Fishbone
Fishbone is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1979, that plays a fusion of ska, punk, funk, metal, reggae, and soul. AllMusic has described the group as "one of the most distinctive and eclectic alternative rock bands of the late '80s. With their hyperactive, self-conscious diversity, goofy sense of humor, and sharp social commentary, the group gained a sizable cult following". Fishbone first assembled as school students in 1979 with John Norwood Fisher (bass), his brother Philip "Fish" Fisher (drums), Angelo Moore (vocals, saxophones, theremin), Kendall Jones (guitar), "Dirty" Walter A. Gang Starr
Gang Starr was an American hip hop duo, consisting of Texas record producer DJ Premier and Massachusetts rapper Guru. For the entirety of their association, they were based out of Brooklyn, New York. Gang Starr was at its height from 1989 to 2003, and are considered one of the best MC-and-producer duos in hip hop history. They are recognized for being one of the pioneers of jazz rap.
