Loene Carmen
Lo Carmen (also known by her full name Loene Carmen prior to 2012) is an Australian singer-songwriter, musician, author and actress. Carmen has independently released seven solo albums in the Americana (music), Americana alt-country indie rock vein. In February 2022 her memoir ''Lovers Dreamers Fighters'' was published by HarperCollins. She has described the book as ‘more a cultural history than a memoir … It’s more a kind of love letter to all the musicians and women that have inspired me.’ Early life and career Carmen was born in Adelaide, South Australia, and raised amongst its 1970s music and art community. ''Rock'n'Roll Tears'' is the third album from Australian singer/songwriter Loene Carmen. It was released on 25 August 2007 on Chiquita Records through Shock Records in Australia. The album was recorded in 3 days on location in a barn in the Colo River, New South Wales, by Jorden Brebach and featured musicians from the Australian bands Mess Hall and The Holy Soul. ''Rock 'N' Roll Tears'' was described in its press release as "an anarchic, loose, dirty, dreamy, heat fuelled love letter to rock 'n' roll". Russell Hopkinson
Russell Keith "Rusty" Hopkinson is an Australian rock musician and record label owner. He joined alternative rockers, You Am I, in 1993 on drums, percussion and backing vocals. He had previously been a member of the Bamboos (1986–87) and Kryptonics (1987–88). He established a record label, Reverberation, in 2003 with his former Kryptonics bandmate, Ian Underwood. Reverberation
Reverberation (also known as reverb), in acoustics, is a persistence of sound, after a sound is produced. Reverberation is created when a sound or signal is reflected causing numerous reflections to build up and then decay as the sound is absorbed by the surfaces of objects in the space – which could include furniture, people, and air. This is most noticeable when the sound source stops but the reflections continue, their amplitude decreasing, until zero is reached. Dirty Three is an Australian instrumental rock band, consisting of Warren Ellis (violin and bass guitar), Mick Turner (electric and bass guitars) and Jim White (drums), which formed in 1992. Their 1996 album ''Horse Stories'' was voted by ''Rolling Stone'' as one of the top three albums of the year. Jed Danyel Kurzel (born 1976) is an Australian singer-songwriter-guitarist and film composer. He is a founding member of The Mess Hall (from 2001), a blues rock duo. His older brother Justin Kurzel is a film director and screenwriter. Life and career Kurzel was born in 1976 and, with his older brother Justin Kurzel (born 1974), grew up in Gawler, South Australia. Their father, Zdzislaw Kurzel (1946–2006), was from Poland and had migrated to Australia in 1960, where he became a taxi driver. In the 1990s, Kurzel moved to Sydney, where Justin was studying at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).
