"Slide on The Rhythm" is a 1993 Eurodance House song recorded by the British music project Arizona, featuring Bajan-born singer Zeeteah Massiah (credited as "Zeitia" on the song), which was written and produced by Michael Gray and Jon Pearn (under the production name Greed, which later became Full Intention). The single reached number one on '' Billboard'' 's Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart on October 2, 1993. The track sampled portions of a 1982 Club song, "Ride on The Rhythm," by the American group Mahogany, which was written and produced by Nick Braddy and Richard Bassof (for whom they get credits for on the American release of "Slide on The Rhythm"). The latter was also one of the earliest production works for Nick Martinelli. Arizona was a Eurodance project from England that consisted of remixer/producers Michael Gray and Jon Pearn (both of Full Intention) and vocalist Zeeteah Massiah (born 24 December 1956 in Barbados). Nicholas J. Martinelli (born 5 July 1952) is an American R&B and pop record producer. During the 1980s he worked with many R&B and pop music artists, some of them based in the UK. Acts he has worked with include Loose Ends, Phyllis Hyman, Five Star, Stephanie Mills and Regina Belle. Early history Martinelli cut his teeth as a teenager in 1969 in the Chips warehouse, an independent record distributor for Motown. He was promoted to warehouse manager as he developed an understanding of distribution and retail sales. In 1977, Motown rewarded Nick's diligence by giving him additional responsibilities handling dance promotion for the Northeast region covering the territory from New York to Washington. Zeeteah Silveta Massiah (born December 24, 1956) is a Barbadian-born British singer particularly associated with reggae, jazz and house music. In a wide-ranging career she has recorded and/or toured with artists including Robbie Williams, Tom Jones, Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, Sting, Leo Sayer, and Michael Bolton. She is best known in the United States as the lead vocalist on the 1993 Billboard No.1 dance hit "Slide on the Rhythm". Massiah was born in Saint John, Barbados and grew up in London.
