Slavko Pregl
Slavko Pregl, full name Vekoslav Pregl, (born 9 September 1945) is a Slovene language, Slovene writer, editor and publisher best known for his young adult fiction, youth literature. He is the current director of the Slovenian Book Agency. Pregl was born in Ljubljana in 1945. He studied at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana and obtained his degree in 1972. From 1969 to 1991 he worked at the ''Mladinska Knjiga'' publishing house and then for a while headed his own publishing company ''EWO''. He served as president of the Slovene Writers' Association from 2007 to 2009 and was made the director of the newly created, government funded, Slovenian Book Agency in 2009 and headed the agency until his retirement in August 2012. Ljubljana
Ljubljana (also known by other historical names) is the capital and largest city of Slovenia. It is the country's cultural, educational, economic, political and administrative center. During antiquity, a Roman city called Emona stood in the area. Ljubljana itself was first mentioned in the first half of the 12th century. Situated at the middle of a trade route between the northern Adriatic Sea and the Danube region, it was the historical capital of Carniola, one of the Slovene-inhabited parts of the Habsburg monarchy. It was under Habsburg rule from the Middle Ages until the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918. The Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, commonly referred to as SFR Yugoslavia or simply as Yugoslavia, was a country in Central and Southeast Europe. Slovene Writers' Association
The Slovene Writers' Association ( sl, Društvo slovenskih pisateljev) is a non-profit association of Slovene writers based in Ljubljana. The association was founded on 21 April 1872 in Ljubljana at the initiative of Davorin Trstenjak who also became its first president. The statue of the organization was confirmed by the Duchy of Carniola on 10 May 1872. The constituent congress was held on 14 September 1872 while regular meetings took place in the Hotel Evropa until the 1885. It operated under various names over the years and re-adopted its original name ''Društvo slovenskih pisateljev'' in 1968. The School of Economics and Business (SEB LU) ( sl, Ekonomska fakulteta, EF) in Ljubljana is part of the University of Ljubljana and was founded in 1946.
