Skævinge Station
Skævinge is a town with a population of 2,859 (1 January 2023) and a former municipality (Danish language, Danish, ''Municipalities of Denmark, kommune'') in Hillerød municipality in Capital Region of Denmark in the northern part of the island of Sealand (Denmark), Sealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. The former Skævinge municipality covered an area of 68 km², and had a total population of 6,046 (2005). On 1 January 2007 Skævinge municipality ceased to exist as the result of Municipalities of Denmark#Municipal Reform 2007, ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged into existing Hillerød municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 191 km² and a total population of ca. 43,337. 1970 Danish Municipal Reform
The 1970 Danish Municipal Reform was an extensive administrative reform in Denmark which on 1 April 1970 reduced the number of Danish municipalities from 1,098 to 277 and the number of counties from 25 to 14. The reform also abolished the last legal privileges of the market towns ( sing. Danish: ''købstad''). The 1970 reform was followed by another municipal reform in 2007, namely the Structure Reform. This reform would further reduce the number of municipalities in Denmark, and replace the counties with regions. History In 1841, a law provided for the establishment of 1,021 parish municipalities (sing. Danish: ''sognekommune'') for the first time, and their numbers increased over the years, as did the number of ''købstadskommuner'' (sing. Danish: ''købstadskommune''). The 1900 Summer Olympics (french: Jeux olympiques d'été de 1900, link=no), today officially known as the Games of the II Olympiad () and also known as Paris 1900, were an international multi-sport event that took place in Paris, France, from 14 May to 28 October 1900. No opening or closing ceremonies were held. At the Sorbonne (building), Sorbonne conference of 1894, Pierre de Coubertin proposed that the Olympic Games should take place in Paris in 1900. However, the delegates to the conference were unwilling to wait six years, and lobbied to hold the first games in 1896. A decision was made to hold the 1896 Summer Olympics, first Olympic Games in 1896 in Athens and have Paris host the second Games. Hundested
Hundested is a town with a population of 8,543 (1 January 2022) and a former municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Hovedstaden in the northern part of the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. The former municipality is surrounded by water on three side: to the north is the Kattegat, to the west is the channel leading into the Isefjord, and to the south is Roskilde Fjord and the channel leading into it from the Isefjord. The area is characterized by sand and dunes, especially on its northern side facing the Kattegat, but also found in the central areas and in the south. Netto () is a Danish discount supermarket operating in Denmark, Germany, Poland, and previously in Sweden and the United Kingdom both as a stand-alone venture, until its sale in May 2010 to Asda, and via a joint venture with Sainsbury's between June 2014 and July 2016. Netto is owned by Salling Group. Netto also operated a smaller express version of the store in Denmark, known as "Døgn Netto" (" 4 hourDay Netto"). Ogier the Dane (french: ; da, ) is a legendary paladin of Charlemagne who appears in many Old French ''chansons de geste''. In particular, he features as the protagonist in ''La Chevalerie Ogier'' (ca. 1220), which belongs to the ''Geste de Doon de Mayence'' ("cycle of the rebellious vassals"). The first part of this epic, the ''enfance'' 's''(childhood exploits) of Ogier, is marked by his duel against a Saracen from whom he obtains the sword Cortain, followed by victory over another Saracen opponent from whom he wins the horse Broiefort. In subsequent parts, Ogier turns into a rebel with cause, seeking refuge with the King of Lombardy and warring with Charlemagne for many years, until he is eventually reconciled when a dire need for him emerges after another Saracen incursion.
