Skyla (born Lucy Batty, 5 March 1991) is an English dance singer from Altrincham. Career Skyla was signed by 3 Beat/ AATW in 2008. She was working alongside producers Scott Rosser (from Cahill), Mike Di Scala (Ultrabeat) and Nemesis. Her appearance on the music scene was a song by the Beatplayers on a titled track "Summer Love" and she featured on the track as well as in the music video. The song peaked at 31 on the UK Dance Chart. On 9 June 2009, she released her debut single, "Breaking Free" (a cover of the ''High School Musical'' song). On 14 October 2009, she released her second single, a cover of 50 Cent's "Ayo Technology". "Ayo Technology" is the fourth single from 50 Cent's third album, ''Curtis''. It was released on July 24, 2007. The song, featuring Justin Timberlake and vocals from Timbaland, who also produced the song along with Danja, has peaked at number five on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Internationally, the song peaked within the top ten of the charts in many countries, including Australia, Denmark and the United Kingdom. The song has since been covered by Milow, a Belgian singer-songwriter whose version was successful in a number of countries, including Belgium, Spain, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands. 3 Beat Productions is a British independent record label founded by Jon Barlow in 1989. History 3 Beat Music was founded as a dance music record shop in 1989 by Jon Barlow, Dave Nicholl, Phil Southall and later joined by Phil Beddard and Hywell Williams who were students at the time. It began as a second hand record stall in Quiggins, Liverpool and later moved into a permanent location on Wood Street where the shop was managed by Rob Jay and Pezz 3 Beat where it won numerous awards including Music Week's independent record shop of the year. In 2002, the shop expanded and moved to Slater Street. As of 2009, the record shop has changed ownership and is now no longer part of the 3 Beat group. The new owners ho were ex employees of 3 Beatwanted to keep a connection to the history of the shop whilst also showing things had moved on so changed the name to 3B Records. Altrincham
Altrincham ( , locally ) is a market town in Trafford, Greater Manchester, England, south of the River Mersey. It is southwest of Manchester city centre, southwest of Sale and east of Warrington. At the 2011 Census, it had a population of 52,419. Within the boundaries of the historic county of Cheshire, Altrincham was established as a market town in 1290, a time when the economy of most communities was based on agriculture rather than trade, and there is still a market in the town.
