Skullhead
Skullhead was a nationalist Oi! band from the Newcastle upon Tyne, Newcastle area. It was part of the Rock Against Communism (RAC) movement. History Formed in Consett in March 1984,R. Forbes & E. Stampton, “The White Nationalist Skinhead Movement: UK & USA, 1979 - 1993”, Feral House, 2015 their debut album White Warrior was released in 1987 (released by United Records, a subsidiary of Rock-O-Rama Records). The line-up on the album was Kevin Turner (vocals), Tim Ward (guitar), ‘Spin’ Brown (bass) and Nick Shaw (drums). Skullhead joined the National Front (UK), National Front's White Noise Club, and when most of other British RAC bands left to join Blood & Honour, Skullhead remained with the White Noise Club till its end. Rebelles Européens (WP Rock Label)
Rebelles Européens was a French independent record label that operated between 1987 and 1994, specialising in White power music, white power rock and Rock Against Communism. Based in the port city of Brest, France, Brest, the label was founded by Gaël Bodilis, a member of far-right groups including the Génération Nation, Front Nationale Jeunesse, Third Way (France), Troisième Voie, and French and European Nationalist Party, PNFE. Rebelles Européens was, alongside German label Rock-O-Rama Records, a key player within the international white power skinhead music scene during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Rock Against Communism
Rock Against Communism (RAC) was the name of white power rock concerts in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and has since become the catch-all term for music with racist lyrics as well as a specific genre of rock music derived from Oi!. The lyrics can focus on racism and antisemitism, though this depends on the band. List Of Neo-Nazi Bands
Far right bands first appeared in the late 1970s. Punk rock, and genres influenced by it, had used Nazi imagery for shock value, but those bands were usually not fascist. This changed when Oi!, a populist offshoot of punk rock, became popular with white power skinheads. The ambiguity of Nazi chic can make it difficult to identify a band's intentions, especially when the bands do not express a clear political message. Consett
Consett is a town in County Durham, England, about south-west of Newcastle upon Tyne. It had a population of 27,394 in 2001 and an estimate of 25,812 in 2019. History Consett sits high on the edge of the Pennines. Its' name originates in the Old English ''Cunecsheafod'' ("Cunec's headland"), first recorded in the 13th century. In 1841, it was a village community of only 145, but it was about to become a boom town: below the ground were coking coal and blackband iron ore, and nearby was limestone. Rock-O-Rama Records was a Cologne-based German independent record label that operated between 1980 and 1994, established and run by Herbert Egoldt. Though initially dedicated to releasing and distributing left-wing or apolitical German and international punk and hardcore, Rock-O-Rama became a leading label for white power rock and Rock Against Communism from the middle of the 1980s. Following a 1993 police raid, Egoldt closed the label in 1994 under the threat of legal action from German authorities. History Herbert Egoldt began his career in music distribution in the 1970s, selling bootlegged American rockabilly recordings via a mail order service called Big-H. HM Prison Acklington was a Category C men's prison, located near the village of Acklington a few miles from Amble), in Northumberland, England. Acklington Prison was operated by Her Majesty's Prison Service. In 2011 Acklington was merged into the newly named HM Prison Northumberland. HMP Acklington was the most northerly adult prison in England, and was built on the site of the former RAF Acklington airfield.
