Skibstrup
Skibstrup is a settlement located on the coast between Helsingør and Hornbæk in North Zealand, Denmark. The original village has now merged with Hellebæk-Ålsgårde to the east. It is to the west bounded by Hornbæk Plantage. History The first known reference to Skibstrup is from 1519. The origins of the name is uncertain but it may means "The settlement by the ship". In 1681, Skibstrup consisted of seven tenant farms and two houses without land. All seven farms remained in the village in connection with the agricultural reforms of the 1780s. Their names were Skellebæk, Gørlunde, Tranager, Rosendal, Skadenborg (now called Viehøjgaard), Hagenberg and Aldersborg. They were all sold in 1797 but only Rosendal was moved out of the village. When the Hornbæk Railway opened in 1906, Skobstrup began to grow, first along the Kattegat coast and later inland. Skibstrup Railway Halt
Skibstrup halt is a railway halt serving the settlements of Skibstrup and Ellekilde on the coast of North Zealand, Denmark. The halt is located on the Hornbæk Line from Helsingør to Gilleleje. The train services are currently operated by the railway company Lokaltog which runs frequent local train services between Helsingør station and Gilleleje station. Hornbæk Line
The Hornbæk Line ( da, Hornbækbanen) is a long standard gauge single track local passenger railway line north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It runs along the coast of Øresund between Helsingør and Gilleleje, through an area with many holiday homes. The name ''Hornbækbanen'' refers to the town Hornbæk about halfway between Helsingør and Gilleleje. The section from to opened in 1906, and the section from to in 1916. The railway is currently owned by Hovedstadens Lokalbaner and operated by the railway company Lokaltog. Helsingør ( , ; sv, Helsingör), classically known in English as Elsinore ( ), is a city in eastern Denmark. Helsingør Municipality had a population of 62,686 on 1 January 2018. Helsingør and Helsingborg in Sweden together form the northern reaches of the Øresund Region, centered on Copenhagen and Malmö. Hornbæk
Hornbæk () is a seaside resort town on the north coast of the Danish island of Sjælland, facing the Øresund which separates Denmark from Sweden. It is part of Helsingør Municipality and is located 12 km north-west of Helsingør, and is mainly known for its fashionable holiday homes and broad sandy beaches. As of 2020, Hornbæk proper has a population of 3,641 but since 2010 it has grown together with neighbouring Dronningmølle in Gribskov Municipality, forming an urban area with a combined population of 5,334. North Zealand
North Zealand, also North Sealand ( da, Nordsjælland), refers to the northern part of the Danish island of Zealand which is not clearly defined but generally covers the area north of Copenhagen. The Danish tourist authorities have recently introduced the term Danish Riviera to cover the area in view of its increasing importance for tourism. Ålsgårde
Ålsgårde is a former fishing village on the north coast of Zealand, Denmark, located six kilometer northwest of Helsingør. Formerly Ålsgårde was a separate town, but today it has merged with the neighbouring town of Hellebæk into an urban area with a population of 5,790 (1 January 2022). Notable buildings Rytterhuset (Nordre Strandvej 230) iwas built in 1889 as summer residence for the painter Frants Henningsen to a National Romantic design by Martin Nyrop. The property, including a jetty with a bathhouse and a couple of outbuildings, is now listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places. Nordre Strandvej 140, a half-timbered house from 1819, is also listed. Hellebæk Church is, in spite of its name, also located in Ålsgårde.
