Ski Idrettslag is a Norwegian alliance sports club from Ski, Akershus. It has sections for association football, track and field, team handball, floorball, ice hockey, tennis and gymnastics. The club colors are yellow and blue. General history The club was founded as ''Ski TIF'' on 19 February 1919. In 1946 it incorporated the AIF club ''AIL Fremad''. Athletics It has been a prominent athletics club for many years. On national level, Ski athletes have taken national championship medals in all the kinds of events. The Ski IL athlete with the most national championships is Tormod Lislerud, who won the discus throw title in 1965, 1966, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973 and 1974. 110 Metres Hurdles
The 110 metres hurdles, or 110-metre hurdles, is a hurdling track and field event for men. It is included in the athletics programme at the Summer Olympic Games. The female counterpart is the 100 metres hurdles. As part of a racing event, ten hurdles of in height are evenly spaced along a straight course of 110 metres. They are positioned so that they will fall over if bumped into by the runner. Fallen hurdles do not carry a fixed time penalty for the runners, but they have a significant pull-over weight which slows down the run. Like the 100 metres sprint, the 110 metres hurdles begins in the starting blocks. For the 110 m hurdles, the first hurdle is placed after a run-up of 13.72 metres (45 ft) from the starting line. 2000 Norwegian Second Division
The 2000 2. divisjon was the third highest football (soccer) league for men in Norway. 22 games were played in 8 groups, with 3 points given for wins and 1 for draws. Ørn-Horten, Mandalskameratene, Hødd and Aalesund were promoted to the First Division through playoffs against the other 4 group winners. Because of the league being streamlined for the next season, more teams than usual—number nine, ten, eleven and twelve—were relegated to the 3. divisjon. The winning teams from each of the 24 groups in the 3. divisjon faced some teams placed seven and eight (except for the three worst eight-place teams) in the 2. divisjon in three-way playoff matches, resulting in 10 playoff winners which stayed or were promoted to the 2. divisjon. Norwegian Second Division
The Norwegian Second Division, also called 2. divisjon and often referred to as PostNord-ligaen for sponsorship reasons, is the third-highest level of the Norwegian football league system. There are 28 teams divided into two groups, and at the end of the season the winner of each group earns promotion to the second-highest division, 1. divisjon. The teams finishing in second place in their respective group will qualify for the promotion play-offs, where they will face each other. The winner will play against the 14th placed team in 1. divisjon for promotion. The bottom three teams in each group are relegated to 3. divisjon. 2. divisjon is the highest league a reserve team can participate in, and only reserve teams from the Eliteserien clubs (first tier) are allowed to enter. The Norwegian First Division, also called 1. divisjon and OBOS-ligaen (named sponsor is property developer OBOS), is the second-highest level of the Norwegian football league system. Each year, the top finishing teams in the 1. divisjon are promoted to the Eliteserien, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to 2. divisjon. 1. divisjon was previously known as 2. divisjon (1963–1990) and replaced regional league Landsdelsserien (1951–1962) after the latter was dissolved after the 1961–62 season. Follo FK
Follo Fotballklubb is a football club from Ski, Viken, Norway. Follo play in light blue, and their home ground is Ski stadion. It was founded in September 2000 and their biggest achievement was playing in the 2010 Norwegian Football Cup Final. History It was founded in September 2000 as an umbrella team for the football departments of five local teams; Ås IL, Oppegård IL, Langhus IL, Ski IL and Nordby IL. Follo's had a good Norwegian Cup run in 2006, when they made it all the way to the quarter finals, eventually losing at home 0-1 to the cup finalists Sandefjord. But on the way to the quarters they beat defending holders Molde. Four years later, in 2010, they made it to the Norwegian Cup final, beating Tippeligaen club Lillestrøm 4-2 in the third round, and then later Rosenborg 3-2 in the semi finals. Helene Olafsen
Helene Olafsen (born 21 February 1990) is a Norwegian snowboarder. She placed tenth overall in the 2007-08 Snowboarding World Cup, and fifth in her special event boardercross, where she collected 3570 of her total 4160 points. She took her first victory in a World Cup event in March 2007, and finished fifth at the 2007 Winter X Games. In 2021, she participated on the Norwegian TV series '' Norges nye megahit'', on which various celebrities competed to create a hit song. The 10,000 metres or the 10,000-metre run is a common long-distance track running event. The event is part of the athletics programme at the Olympic Games and the World Athletics Championships, and is common at championship level events. High Jump
The high jump is a track and field event in which competitors must jump unaided over a horizontal bar placed at measured heights without dislodging it. In its modern, most-practiced format, a bar is placed between two standards with a crash mat for landing. Since ancient times, competitors have introduced increasingly effective techniques to arrive at the current form, and the current universally preferred method is the Fosbury Flop, in which athletes run towards the bar and leap head first with their back to the bar.
