''Ski Canada'' is a special-interest consumer magazine published for alpine (downhill) ski enthusiasts. The magazine is published by Solstice Publishing Inc. based in Toronto, Ontario. It was launched in 1972 in a newspaper format as ''Ski Canada Journal'' and changed to its present name and magazine format in 1974 (ISSN 0702-701X). It was launched by Col. Terry Whelpton with a focus on ski racing. In 1979, the magazine was purchased by Maclean Hunter Ltd. An International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) is an eight-digit serial number used to uniquely identify a serial publication, such as a magazine. The ISSN is especially helpful in distinguishing between serials with the same title. ISSNs are used in ordering, cataloging, interlibrary loans, and other practices in connection with serial literature.
