	Beverley Skeggs Beverley Skeggs is a British Sociology, sociologist, noted as one of the foremost feminist sociologists in the world. Currently, she works as a "Distinguished Professor" in the Sociology Department at Lancaster University, developing a Center for Social Inequalities in the North West of England. She continues to run the "Economics of Care" theme at the International Inequalities centre at the London School of Economics (LSE) and is a visiting professor at Goldsmiths University. She has been the head of two of the UK’s leading Sociology Departments, at the University of Manchester and Goldsmiths, as well as co-director of Lancaster's Women's Studies. 	Bruce Skeggs Bruce Albert Edward Skeggs (11 October 1932 – 21 March 2013) was a longstanding Australian Victorian Parliamentarian who was equally famous for his career as a race-caller. He was a Liberal member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 1973 to 1982, representing Ivanhoe. He was the Liberal member of the Legislative Council from 1988 to 1996, representing Templestowe Province. Early life Born in Cremorne, Sydney, Skeggs started singing professionally when he was a schoolboy. While a student at Katoomba, New South Wales, he learned voice production and microphone technique and enjoyed singing with bands conducted by his mother, Ethel. At age 11, he won a talent contest called Australia's Amateur Hour and the local paper ran a story likening him to Nelson Eddy. 	Cliff Skeggs Sir Clifford George Skeggs (born 19 March 1931) is a New Zealand businessman from Dunedin, and was Mayor of Dunedin from 1977 to 1989. Early life and family Skeggs was born in Bluff, and was educated at Bluff School and Southland Technical College. He married Marie Ledgerwood in 1951, and they went on to have three sons. Business career He was involved in the fishing industry from 1953, and developed the Skeggs Group of which he was the chairman and chief executive into what was the largest private inshore fishing fleet in New Zealand with investments including shipping, aviation (Pacifica Air) and property. Political career Skeggs was on the Dunedin City Council and Otago Harbour Board, and later was chairman of the port company Port Otago. He was mayor of Dunedin from 1977 to 1989. 	Roy Skeggs Roy Skeggs (April 1934 – 29 December 2018) was a British film producer for Hammer Films who is credited along with Brian Lawrence for revitalising the film company following receivership in 1979. Early life Skeggs and Lawrence were former board members of Hammer Films who had resigned to form their own production company, Cinema Arts. When Hammer entered receivership in 1979, Skeggs and Lawrence returned at the request of company management to develop a new direction for the ailing production house. Skeggs relocated Hammer Films to Hampden House in Buckinghamshire, and shifted production away from horror films featuring Dracula and Frankenstein towards anthologies and television serials. Production schedules were shortened and new features were largely shot on location in Buckinghamshire rather than the more expensive studio backlot. 	David Skegg Sir David Christopher Graham Skegg (born 16 December 1947) is a New Zealand epidemiologist and university administrator. He is an emeritus professor in the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine at the University of Otago. He was the vice-chancellor of the university from 2004 to 2011 and president of the Royal Society of New Zealand from 2012 to 2015. His primary research interest is cancer epidemiology. Biography Skegg was born in Auckland and attended King's College, Auckland. He entered the medical course at the University of Otago, travelling on exchange to Harvard University. He later received a (postgraduate) Rhodes Scholarship to the University of Oxford, joining Balliol College and working with noted epidemiologist Sir Richard Doll.
