Sjoerd Kuyper (born 6 March 1952, Amsterdam) is a Dutch poetry and prose writer of adult, children's and youth books, theatre, TV series, film scripts and lyrics. His best-known works are the film ''Het zakmes'' (''The Pocket-knife''), the series of books about the toddler Robin, the poem ''Mensen met koffers'' (''People with Suitcases''), the lyrics ''Hallo wereld'' (''Hello World'') and the youth novels ''Hotel De Grote L'' (''The Big L hotel'') and ''Bizar'' (''Bizarre''). Sjoerd Pijbes Wiarda (in office 1399–1410) was the fifteenth potestaat (or elected governor) of Friesland now a province of the Netherlands. Sjoerd Wiarda born in 1355 and died in 1410. He was the son of Pybe Wyarda and Claer van Eminga. He lived on Wiarda estate at Goutum. He was the last potestaat to rule both Oostergo and Westergo. Wiarda was the leader in the fight against the Count of Holland. In 1398 he was a delegate to the convention with Willem van Beijeren, Count of Holland. He was elected in 1399, succeeding Odo Botnia as potestaat. In 1400 he fought as a Schieringer in the Battle of Dokkum and Camminghastins. Sjoerd Steven Vollebregt (born 10 December 1954, in Leiden) is a sailor from the Netherlands who represented his native country at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Kingston, Ontario. With twin brother Erik Vollebregt as helmsman, Vollebregt finished 14th in the Sailing at the 1976 Summer Olympics – Flying Dutchman. Since in 1980 the Netherlands boycotted the Moscow Olympics, Vollebregt represented his National Olympic Committee under the Dutch NOC flag in the Flying Dutchman. Again with his brother as helmsman, he took 7th place. Sjoerd Hendrik de Roos (14 September 1877 – 3 April 1962), better known as S. H. de Roos, was a Dutch type designer, book cover designer and artist.
