Shirvan
Shirvan (from fa, شروان, translit=Shirvān; az, Şirvan; Tat: ''Şirvan''), also spelled as Sharvān, Shirwan, Shervan, Sherwan and Šervān, is a historical Iranian region in the eastern Caucasus, known by this name in both pre-Islamic Sasanian and Islamic times. Today, the region is an industrially and agriculturally developed part of the Azerbaijan Republic that stretches between the western shores of the Caspian Sea and the Kura River, centered on the Shirvan Plain. History Etymology Vladimir Minorsky believes that names such as Sharvān (Shirwān), Lāyzān and Baylaqān are Iranian names from the Iranian languages of the coast of the Caspian Sea. Sirvan Khosravi
Sirvan Khosravi ( fa, سیروان خسروی; born 26 July 1982) is an Iranian singer, songwriter, and music producer. He has produced music for various artists including Xaniar Khosravi, his younger brother, who is also a singer-song writer. He rose to fame in 2005 after releasing his debut album "To Khial Kardi Beri". Early life Sirvan Khosravi was born in Tehran. He is of Persian descent. He started learning the keyboard at age 11. At 16 he took some lessons with Kaveh Yaghmaei who became his mentor. Career Before releasing his first album in 2005, Sirvan participated in the works of other Iranian artists as an Audio Engineer, Mixing and Mastering Engineer and Producer. After meeting Omid Athari Nejad in 2001, he produced his first album titled "To Khial Kardi Beri" and released it in 2005. Emirate Of Şirvan
Şirvan Emirate (-1840s, ku, Mîrektiya Şêrwanê) was a Kurdish beylik centered around Şirvan after the fall of the Ayyubid dynasty. The founder of Şirvan was Emir Hasan who was a relative of Emir Kor of the Soran Emirate. The emirate ultimately lost its autonomy due to the Ottoman centralization policies in the mid-1840s and its Kurdish leaders were driven out. At its peak, the emirate included much of the area from Bitlis to Hakkâri including Kurtalan and its rulers were loyal to Bohtan Emirate to the south and its leader Bedir Khan Beg. Although removed from power, the descendants of the former rulers of Şirvan still commanded respect in the area towards the end of the 19th century. Lerrnakert, Shirak
Lernakert ( hy, Լեռնակերտ, also Romanized as Lerrnakert) is a village in the Shirak Province of Armenia. The 10th to 13th-century Makaravank Church, with the church of Surb Sion of 1001 is located 1 mile north of the village. In the gorge below is a small church built on earlier foundations and constructed in the 18th century, with a hermit's cell cut into the cliff face behind. Shirvan Steppe
The Shirvan steppe ( az, Şirvan düzü) is part of the Kur-Araz Lowland of Azerbaijan and is located on the left bank of the Kura River. The elevation of the steppe ranges between and . The steppe has grey desert soil. Its vegetation is halophytic and wormwood, with estuary meadows. The Upper Shirvan water channel was directed from the Mingachevir Reservoir in order to irrigate the land. Animal husbandry (in winter pastures) and horticulture (cotton, crops, and grape) are the main agriculture in the steppe. Şirvan ( ar, شروان, syr, ܫܝܪܘܢ, Sherwan, ku, Kufra, Şêrvan, hy, Քուֆրա, translit=) is a municipality in the Şirvan District of Siirt Province in southeastern Turkey. Siirt Province, ( tr, , ku, Parêzgeha Sêrtê) is a province of Turkey, located in the southeast. The province borders Bitlis to the north, Batman to the west, Mardin to the southwest, Şırnak to the south, and Van to the east. Şirvan, Azerbaijan
Shirvan () is a city in Azerbaijan, located on the Kura River. It was called ''Zubovka'' until 1938 and ''Alibayramli'' until 2008. From 1938 to 1954, Shirvan possessed the status of a village. It obtained the status of a city of Republican level on January 4, 1963. The territory of the Shirvan is 72.7 km2, and the population is 87,400 according to the 2020 census.
