Siraj (1952 – 24 July 2017) was an Indian film director, who worked in Tamil cinema. Career Throughout his career, he remained a close acquaintance to actor Ramarajan. In 1999, Siraj worked on the multi-starrer film ''Suyamvaram ''Suyamvaram'' () is a 1999 Indian Tamil-language comedy drama film starring an ensemble cast from actors in the Tamil film industry and shot by a large technical team from the industry. The film was planned by Giridharilal Nagpal who produced a ...'' (1999), also being responsible for the film's screenplay. In 2014, Siraj was working on a film titled ''Minnal'' and cast NRI actress Angana Adya in dual lead roles, giving her an extra character after being impressed with her performance. The film's lead actors were to be played by debutants Abhinay and Aathava, who developed an eight-pack for the film. Tamil cinema, also known as Kollywood is a part of Indian Cinema; primarily engaged in production of motion pictures in the Tamil language. Ramarajan (born 18 October, 1960) is an Indian actor, writer, director and politician who specialised in acting and directing films on village-based subjects. He is also known as ''Makkal Nayagan'' in Tamil cinema. Career Ramarajan started his career by doing small roles beginning in the year 1977. He turned director with '' Mannukketha Ponnu'' (1985), Ramarajan instead approached Gangai Amaran to compose music. He got his first hype as a lead in the film ''Namma Ooru Nalla Ooru'', released in 1986. ''En Rajangam'' is a 1994 Tamil language comedy drama film directed and produced by Siraj. The film stars Anandaraj, Ramarjun, Vinodhini and Sreeja, with Jaishankar, Ravichandran, Eashwar, Shanmugasundaram, Vennira Aadai Moorthy and Thyagu playing supporting roles. It was released on 18 March 1994. Plot Gopalakrishnan is an honest and naive police constable who lives with his only sister Sugandhi. Sugandhi and her classmate Suresh (Ramarjun) quarrel for small matters. Meanwhile, Gopalakrishnan and Kalyani squabble whenever they meet.
