Sir William Lowther, 1st Baronet (4 January 1676 – 6 April 1705) was an English landowner from Marske-by-the-Sea, Yorkshire. He was the eldest son of Anthony Lowther and Margaret Penn, daughter of Sir William Penn. On 15 June 1697, he was created a baronet. Colonel Roger Kirkby (c. 1649 – 8 February 1709) was an English soldier and politician, of Kirkby Ireleth in Lancashire, the eldest son of Richard Kirkby and his first wife Elizabeth Murray. An ensign in the Coldstream Guards in 1670, he was a captain in Charles Wheeler's Regiment of Foot in 1678, and colonel in Sir James Leslie's Regiment of Foot in 1689. A baronet ( or ; abbreviated Bart or Bt) or the female equivalent, a baronetess (, , or ; abbreviation Btss), is the holder of a baronetcy, a hereditary title awarded by the British Crown. The title of baronet is mentioned as early as the 14th century, however in its current usage was created by James I of England in 1611 as a means of raising funds for the crown. A baronetcy is the only British hereditary honour that is not a peerage, with the exception of the Anglo-Irish Black Knights, White Knights, and Green Knights (of whom only the Green Knights are extant). A baronet is addressed as "Sir" (just as is a knight) or "Dame" in the case of a baronetess, but ranks above all knighthoods and damehoods in the order of precedence, except for the Order of the Garter, the Order of the Thistle, and the dormant Order of St Patrick. William Nunez Heysham (19 July 1828 – 12 December 1905) was an English first-class cricketer and barrister. Biography Heysham was born at Marylebone in July 1828, son of William Henry Heysham. He studied law at Trinity College, Oxford. He was a student at the Inner Temple, from where he was called to the bar in June 1853. Marske-by-the-Sea
Marske-by-the-Sea is a village in the unitary authority of Redcar and Cleveland and the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire, England. It is located on the coast, between the seaside resorts of Redcar and Saltburn-by-the-Sea, although it is not itself a seaside resort.
