Sir Thomas Hussey, 2nd Baronet
Sir Thomas Hussey, 2nd Baronet (1639 – 19 December 1706), of Honington, Lincolnshire, was an English Member of Parliament. He was the eldest surviving son of Thomas Hussey (Grantham MP), Thomas Hussey of Honington, Lincolnshire, Honington and was educated privately and at Christ's College, Cambridge (1655). He succeeded his father before 1641 and succeeded his grandfather as 2nd Baronet in 1648. He was appointed High Sheriff of Lincolnshire for 1668–69. He was elected a Member of Parliament, Member (MP) of the Parliament of England for Lincoln (UK Parliament constituency), Lincoln in 1681 and Lincolnshire (UK Parliament constituency), Lincolnshire in 1685, 1689, 1690 and 1695. He married Sarah, the daughter of Sir John Langham, 1st Baronet, of Crosby Place, London and Cottesbrooke, Northamptonshire, with whom he had six sons and four daughters. Honington, Lincolnshire
Honington is an English village and Civil parishes in England, civil parish in the South Kesteven Non-metropolitan district, district of Lincolnshire. It lies just north of the junction between the A153 road, A153 and A607 road, A607 roads, about north of Grantham and west of Sleaford. History To the east of Honington are Earthwork (archaeology), earthwork remains of an Iron Age fort, measuring with defensive banks and ditches. George Whichcot
George Whichcot ( bapt. 8 June 1653 - 5 September 1720) was a British politician, MP in the House of Commons for Lincolnshire from 1698 to 1700 and from 1705 to 1710. Biography George Whichcot was born in Fotherby, Lincolnshire to Sir William Whichcot and Margaret Clifton. He was baptised on 8 June 1653. George Whichcot married Frances Whichcot (née Boynton) in 1698. That same year he became a MP of the Parliament of England for Westminster (3rd. Parliament of William III of England, 1698 to 1700). His views from this time remain rather uncertain. In 1707 Sidney Godolphin indicated that Whichcot "did take part in the last war", as Whichcot was a captain under George Saunderson, 5th Viscount Castleton from 1690 to 1692. A baronet ( or ; abbreviated Bart or Bt) or the female equivalent, a baronetess (, , or ; abbreviation Btss), is the holder of a baronetcy, a hereditary title awarded by the British Crown. The title of baronet is mentioned as early as the 14th century, however in its current usage was created by James I of England in 1611 as a means of raising funds for the crown. A baronetcy is the only British hereditary honour that is not a peerage, with the exception of the Anglo-Irish Black Knights, White Knights, and Green Knights (of whom only the Green Knights are extant).
