Caythorpe, Lincolnshire
Caythorpe is a large village and civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. The population at 2011 census was 1,374. It is situated on the A607, approximately south from Leadenham and north from Grantham. Caythorpe Heath stretches east of the village to Ermine Street and Byards Leap. Arnhem Heritage: Caythorpe is known for the soldiers based in the village during the Second World War. The 1st Airborne Signals Regiment took part in Operation Market Garden and fought for the bridges of Arnhem against the Nazis. Survivors of the Battle of Arnhem return to the village every late summer with the 216 Signals Regiment for Arnhem Weekend. There is a church service held in Saint Vincents Church, a Gala, parade through the village of the veterans and soldiers and other events in the village. Sir Thomas Hussey, 2nd Baronet
Sir Thomas Hussey, 2nd Baronet (1639 – 19 December 1706), of Honington, Lincolnshire, was an English Member of Parliament. He was the eldest surviving son of Thomas Hussey (Grantham MP), Thomas Hussey of Honington, Lincolnshire, Honington and was educated privately and at Christ's College, Cambridge (1655). He succeeded his father before 1641 and succeeded his grandfather as 2nd Baronet in 1648. He was appointed High Sheriff of Lincolnshire for 1668–69. He was elected a Member of Parliament, Member (MP) of the Parliament of England for Lincoln (UK Parliament constituency), Lincoln in 1681 and Lincolnshire (UK Parliament constituency), Lincolnshire in 1685, 1689, 1690 and 1695. Thomas Lister (died 1718)
Thomas Lister (c. 1658 – 8 February 1718), of Coleby, Lincolnshire, was an English Tory politician, who sat in the English and British House of Commons from 1705 to 1715. Lister was the eldest son of William Lister of Coleby and his wife Frances Franklyn, daughter of Sir John Franklyn MP of Willesden, Middlesex. He was admitted at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge on 7 April 1675, aged 16 and at Gray's Inn in 1678. He married Jane Hawtrey, the daughter of John Hawtrey of Ruislip, Middlesex on 5 June 1683. In 1687, he succeeded his father, inheriting Coleby Hall, which he extended. Lister was appointed High Sheriff of Lincolnshire for the year 1695 to 1696. From 1700 to 1705, he was Commissioner for army, navy and transport debts. He was returned as a Member of Parliament for Lincoln at the 1705 English general election on his own interest. Sir Charles Hussey (1626 – 2 December 1664) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons in two periods between 1656 and 1664. Hussey was the son of Sir Edward Hussey, 1st Baronet of Honington and his wife Elizabeth Anton, daughter of George Anton of Lincoln. He was baptised on 30 October 1626. In 1646 he was admitted at Gray's Inn. His father died in 1648, but the baronetcy went to Hussey's nephew Thomas, son of his deceased brother Thomas. He was commissioner for assessment for Lincolnshire 1652. In 1656, he was elected Member of Parliament for Lincolnshire in the Second Protectorate Parliament.
