Sipho Mashele
Sipho Mashele (born 22 January 1987) was a South African cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler who played for Limpopo. He was born in Namakgale. Mashele made his first-class debut for Limpopo against Namibia in October 2006, having played a single match in the 2005-06 competition. On his debut, he took the wicket of Bjorn Kotze, and scored just eight runs in his first innings, partnering Jacques Pretorius in the tailend. Where Pretorius was comparatively successful with the bat, however, Mashele struggled, scoring a first-class best of just 10 runs against Mpumalanga Mpumalanga () is a province of South Africa. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. Namakgale
Namakgale is a large township lying 12 km outside Phalaborwa in Mopani District in the Limpopo province of South Africa. Its nearest neighbouring townships are Lulekani, Makhushane, Maseke and Mashishimale on the R71 road to Gravelotte (GaMaenetje). It is next to the Kruger National Park on the north eastern part of the Limpopo province previously Northern Transvaal.
