Sion Bebb
Sion Emrys Bebb (born 3 October 1968) is a Welsh professional golfer. Bebb was born in Church Village, Mid Glamorgan, and is the son of former Welsh international rugby player Dewi Bebb. He turned professional in 1986 and worked for many years as a club professional before forging a tournament career. He has struggled to establish himself on the top level European Tour and has visited qualifying school many times, successfully regaining his card in 2006 and 2007. Bebb first gained his card on the European Tour through the 2006 qualifying school, having spent many years on the second-tier Challenge Tour. He had claimed his first win at that level earlier in 2006, at the Ryder Cup Wales Challenge, the week after his wife had given birth to their second child. Church Village
Church Village ( cy, Pentre'r Eglwys) is a large village in the historic parish and community of Llantwit Fardre, located within the Taff Ely district of the County Borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf in Wales. The village is centrally located being around from the local principal towns of Llantrisant to the southwest and Pontypridd to the north and is situated around northwest of Cardiff city centre. History Historically the village was known as Cross Inn and fell within the traditional county of Glamorgan. Church Village itself does not share the extent of industrial mining heritage of much of the rest of the county and largely comprises new and recent build housing. Jean-Baptiste Gonnet
Jean-Baptiste Gonnet (born 28 September 1982) is a French professional golfer. Gonnet was born in Cannes. He turned professional in 2004 and played on the Challenge Tour from 2004 to 2006. He finished 17th in the 2006 Order of Merit to earn a place on the European Tour for 2007. He competed on the European Tour until 2013. His best season was his debut year in 2007, when he finished 90th in the Order of Merit. He also recorded his best tournament result to date in 2007, finishing tied for second place at the Scandinavian Masters. PGA Cup
The PGA Cup is a men's golf competition for club professionals played between a Great Britain and Ireland team and a United States team. The winning team is presented with the Llandudno Trophy. The competition is run by the British PGA and the PGA of America. It was first played in 1973 and was an annual event until 1984, after which it became biennial. The 2022 event was held at the Foxhills Golf Club in Surrey, England, the second time that the course had been chosen to host the event. The Welsh National PGA Championship is a golf tournament played annually in Wales since 1904. For many years the event was called the Welsh Professional Championship. Currently entry is restricted to professionals employed by a Welsh club and those born in Wales or with a parent or grandparent born in Wales. 2016 was the 100th edition of the event and was won by Lydia Hall after a final round 67. History The first Championship was held at Radyr Golf Club on 15 July 1904. It was a 36-hole stroke-play event played on a single day. There were 19 entries. Tom Brace led after a 79 in the morning but fell away after an afternoon 92. The winner was the Tenby professional, Arthur Day, who had rounds of 81 and 80 for a total of 161.
