Sinsen (station)
Sinsen is a rapid transit station on the Ring Line of the Oslo Metro. It is located at Sinsen in the Sagene borough of Oslo, Norway. Next to the station is the tram station Sinsenkrysset, that has been part of the Sinsen Line of the Oslo Tramway since 1939. The station opened on 20 August 2006, as part of the first section of the Ring Line. The station is served by line 4 and 5 of the metro, as well as several local bus services. Sinsen is a mixed residential and commercial area. History Storo opened as a tram station as part of the extension of the Sinsen Line to Grefsen in 1939. The tram station was built adjacent to the Sinsen Interchange, between Ring 3 and National Road 4. In 1992, the Sinsen Line was moved redirected to go outside the interchange. The process of establishing a Ring Line to serve the northern parts of Oslo started in the late 1980s. Norwegian National Road 4 ( no, Riksvei 4, ) is a national road in Norway which is the main route north from the capital city of Oslo to the junction with the European route E6 highway at the village of Biri in Gjøvik Municipality. The road runs through Nittedal, Hadeland, and Toten to its terminus on the shore of the lake Mjøsa. In 2021, the government began studying ways to improve the road to allieviate traffic problems. Sinsen Interchange
The Sinsen Interchange ( no, Sinsenkrysset) is a heavily trafficked, multilevel road junction in Oslo, Norway. It connects the highways Norwegian National Road 150 and Norwegian National Road 4 ( Trondheimsveien). The junction has existed since the 19th century, and has grown considerably in size since then. It was enhanced with a roundabout in 1957, and was connected with National road 150 in 1962. The increase in traffic was greater than the capacity of the junction, and thus a bridge was constructed that redirected Trondheimsveien above the roundabout. Nils Carl Aspenberg (born 26 August 1958) is a Norwegian journalist, historian, author and businessperson. He has written numerous books on rail transport, and is chief executive officer of Baneforlaget. Aspenberg has a ''siviløkonom'' degree from BI Norwegian Business School. Sinsen is a mixed residential and commercial area in Grünerløkka borough of Oslo, Norway. The westernmost part of Sinsen is part of the borough Nordre Aker. The Sinsen Interchange, located on the border between the boroughs of Nordre Aker, Grünerløkka and Bjerke, was the first roundabout in Norway. It has since developed into a multi-lever intersection, with both Ring 3, National Road 4 and the Sinsen Line of the Oslo Tramway routes around. Sinsen Line
The Sinsen Line ( no, Sinsenlinjen) is part of the Oslo Tramway on the east side of the city. Most of the line is served by line 17, although the northernmost tip (Grefsen–Torshov) is served by line 18 which otherwise runs on the Grünerløkka–Torshov Line.
