Singspiel Stakes (Dubai)
The Singspiel Stakes, is a horse race for horses aged four and over, run at a distance of 1,800 metres (nine furlongs) on turf in January at Meydan Racecourse in Dubai. The Singspiel Stakes was first contested in 2014 as a Listed race before being elevated to Group 3 class in 2018. It gained Group 2 status in 2020. It is named in honour of the racehorse Singspiel. Meydan Racecourse
Meydan Racecourse is a racecourse in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The grandstand is over a mile in length, and can accommodate over 60,000 spectators. Meydan opened on 27 March 2010, replacing Nad Al Sheba Racecourse, which formerly occupied the same site. It includes a horse racing museum, gallery and five-star hotel and nine-hole golf course. When not in use for racing it serves as a business and conference centre. The track's interior was also used as a filming location for the film ''Star Trek Beyond'', depicting the docking bay where the USS ''Enterprise'' is moored, including the bar scene during the film's climax which contains a ship construction bay. Paul Hanagan
Paul Hanagan (born 8 September 1980 in Warrington, Cheshire) is a leading British flat horse racing jockey. Hanagan has twice been crowned champion jockey on the flat in Britain, riding 165 winners in 2011 to defend his title, having won his first title with 191 winners in 2010. Daniel Tudhope
Daniel "Danny" Tudhope (born 1 December 1985) is a Group 1-winning Scottish jockey. He is stable jockey to David O'Meara, for whom he has won most of his major races. Background Tudhope grew up in Irvine, Ayrshire, Scotland. He had no family connection with racing, and only considered a career as a jockey when it was suggested to him by a careers advisor. He graduated from the Northern Racing College and was apprentice to Declan Carroll in Yorkshire. Career He had his first professional rides in 2003, and won his first race at San Rossore, Pisa, Italy in October of that year as part of an initiative for young riders to compete across Europe. Lord Glitters
Lord Glitters (foaled 20 April 2013) is a retired French-bred Thoroughbred racehorse. He was trained in France where he won four races before being sold, gelded, and sent to race in England as a four-year-old where he won the valuable Balmoral Handicap in October 2017. In 2018 he showed very good form over one mile, winning the Strensall Stakes and being placed in the Lincoln Handicap, Queen Anne Stakes and Sussex Stakes. As a six-year-old he finished third in the Dubai Turf before recording his biggest victory when he took the Queen Anne Stakes at the second attempt.
