1990 Manipur Legislative Assembly Election
Elections to the Manipur Legislative Assembly were held in February 1990, to elect members of the 60 constituencies in Manipur, India. The Indian National Congress won the most seats as well as the popular vote, but Raj Kumar Ranbir Singh of the Manipur Peoples Party was appointed as the Chief Minister of Manipur. After the passing of the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Act, 1971, Manipur was converted from a Union Territory to a State and the size of its Legislative Assembly was increased from 30 to 60 members. 1995 Manipur Legislative Assembly Election
Elections to the Manipur Legislative Assembly were held in February 1995, to elect members of the 60 constituencies in Manipur, India. The Indian National Congress won the most seats as well as the popular vote, and its leader, Rishang Keishing was re-appointed as the Chief Minister of Manipur. After the passing of the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Act, 1971, Manipur was converted from a Union Territory to a State and the size of its Legislative Assembly was increased from 30 to 60 members. The constituencies were changed in 1976 by ''The Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies Order, 1976''. 2002 Manipur Legislative Assembly Election
Elections to the Manipur Legislative Assembly were held in February 2002, to elect members of the 60 constituencies in Manipur, India. The Indian National Congress won the most seats as well as the popular vote, and Okram Ibobi Singh was appointed as the Chief Minister of Manipur. The Indian National Congress didn't have a majority of seats on its own and joined the Secular Proggresive Front alliance, along with the Communist Party of India, the Nationalist Congress Party and the Manipur State Congress Party. 2012 Manipur Legislative Assembly Election
The 2012 Manipur Legislative Assembly election was held in Indian state of Manipur in Feb-March 2012, to elect 60 members to the Manipur Legislative Assembly. Results The Voter turnout was 79.19%. Congress won majority of the seats. Incumbent Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh was re-elected for the post. In 2014, the Manipur State Congress Party (MSCP) merged with the Indian National Congress which raised the number of INC MLAs to 47.
