Singapore National Olympic Council
The Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) is the National Olympic Committee and National Paralympic Committee for the Republic of Singapore. It was founded in 1947 as the Singapore Olympic and Sports Council (SOSC) before renaming to its current iteration in 1970. The SNOC is responsible for supporting, entering and overseeing Team Singapore for the Olympic Games, Youth Olympic Games, Winter Olympic Games, Winter Youth Olympic Games, SEA Games, Asian Games, Asian Youth Games and the Commonwealth Games. Singapore participated in the 2007 Southeast Asian Games (SEA) which were held in the city of Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand from 6 to 16 December 2007. Singapore won a record 43 gold medals at the SEA Games. Participation details Singapore sent a total contingent of 658 to the 2007 SEA Games: of 442 competitors and 216 officials. The largest contingent ever sent to an away games, they participated in 35 of the 45 sports in the games. Basketball was among the sports contested at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines. The basketball tournament in the games featured four events; traditional 5-on-5 basketball and 3x3 basketball, for both men and women. The 2019 Southeast Asian Games, officially known as the 30th Southeast Asian Games, or the 30th SEA Games, and commonly known as Philippines 2019, was the 30th edition of the Southeast Asian Games, a biennial regional multi-sport event which was held in the Philippines from 30 November to 11 December 2019. However, due to a narrow calendar, some sports started before the opening ceremony as early as November 24. Singapore participated at the 2021 Southeast Asian Games held in Hanoi, Vietnam from 12 to 23 May 2022. The Games were postponed in 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. At the end of the Games, Singapore top the Medal Tally for Bowling, Fencing and Swimming. There were also 5 Games Records, 16 National Records and 41 Personal Best. 62 of the 164 medals were won by debutants.
