The baseball tournament at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines was held at the Clark International Sports Complex at The Villages, in Pampanga from 2 to 8 December 2019. The sport was only contested by men's national teams. Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each, taking turns batting and fielding. The game occurs over the course of several plays, with each play generally beginning when a player on the fielding team, called the pitcher, throws a ball that a player on the batting team, called the batter, tries to hit with a bat. The objective of the offensive team (batting team) is to hit the ball into the field of play, away from the other team's players, allowing its players to run the bases, having them advance counter-clockwise around four bases to score what are called " runs". 2019 Southeast Asian Games
The 2019 Southeast Asian Games, officially known as the 30th Southeast Asian Games, or the 30th SEA Games, and commonly known as Philippines 2019, was the 30th edition of the Southeast Asian Games, a biennial regional multi-sport event which was held in the Philippines from 30 November to 11 December 2019. However, due to a narrow calendar, some sports started before the opening ceremony as early as November 24. This edition was marked by the first major decentralization in the history of the Games, with competition venues spread in 23 cities across the country and divided into four clusters; all were located on the island of Luzon (Metro Manila, Clark Freeport and Special Economic Zone, Clark, Subic, Zambales, Subic/Olongapo, and a fourth cluster consisting of standalone venues in Cavite, Laguna (province), Laguna, and La Union). Clark International Sports Complex
The Clark International Sports Complex is a complex of sports venue in Mabalacat, Pampanga, Philippines. It is part of The Villages at Global Clark development. Facilities The Clark International Sports Complex hosts eight sporting fields: Two professional baseball field with Major League Baseball dimensions, four wheel wagon baseball fields suitable for both training and competition use, and two multi-purpose fields which can be used to host football and rugby matches. The sports complex grounds also has a jogging path, a beach volleyball area, a multipurpose hall, and an open-air pavilion adjacent one of the two professional baseball fields.
