Sinan Akdag
Sinan Akdag (born November 5, 1989) is a German professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently playing for Düsseldorfer EG in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Playing career A Rosenheim native, Akdag came through the youth ranks of the Starbulls Rosenheim. After joining the Krefeld Pinguine organization, he made his debut in Germany's top-flight Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) during the 2007-08 campaign. Following a seven-year stint with the Krefeld team, he signed with fellow DEL side Adler Mannheim in 2014 and won the German championship in his first year with the team. He received DEL Defenseman of the Year honors in the 2015-16 DEL season, 2015–16 season. Following nine seasons with Adler Mannheim, Akdag left the club as a free agent and was signed to a two-year contract to continue in the DEL with Düsseldorfer EG on 12 May 2023. Düsseldorfer EG (short DEG) is a German professional ice hockey team in Düsseldorf. It was Germany's most successful hockey club for a long time and had many international players. The famous Eisstadion at the Brehmstrasse was the home venue for most of the team's history. The team now plays in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (German Ice Hockey League, abbreviated DEL); the home venue is the ISS Dome. The club was founded on 8 November 1935 as Düsseldorfer Eislauf Gemeinschaft (DEG) and was renamed DEG Metro Stars on 1 March 2002. Goal (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar. A goal awards one point to the team attacking the goal scored upon, regardless of which team the player who actually deflected the puck into the goal belongs to (see also own goal). Landshut Cannibals
EV Landshut, also known as EVL Landshut Eishockey and formerly known as the Landshut Cannibals, are a professional ice hockey team based in Landshut, Bavaria, Germany. They currently play in Deutsche Eishockey Liga 2, the second level of ice hockey in Germany. They were promoted from the third-tier Oberliga in 2019 after winning the Oberliga finals against the Tilburg Trappers. The team was founded in 1948 as ''Eislaufverein Landshut (EVL)'', but since 2002 the professional operations have been incorporated as a separate entity. From 2002 to 2013 the professional team was competing as the Landshut Cannibals; in 2013 the name was changed back to EVL Landshut Eishockey to more closely reflect the tradition and history of the team. 2007–08 DEL Season
The 2007–08 Deutsche Eishockey Liga season was the 14th season since the founding of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL; en, German Ice Hockey League). Fifteen teams played after the Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg received the license and were admitted to play in the DEL. Each club played the other four times, resulting in 56 regular-season games per club. The top six clubs at the end of the regular season qualified for the first round of the play-offs. The clubs seven to ten played a preliminary round to determine the last two places for the first round. For the teams placed eleven to fifteen, the season ended.
