Simple Minds
Simple Minds are a Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 1977. They have released a string of hit singles, becoming best known internationally for "Don't You (Forget About Me)" (1985), which topped the '' Billboard'' Hot 100 in the United States. Other commercially successful singles include "Glittering Prize" (1982), " Someone Somewhere in Summertime" (1982), " Waterfront" (1983) and " Alive and Kicking" (1985), as well as the UK number one single " Belfast Child" (1989). Simple Minds have achieved five UK Albums chart number one albums, ''Sparkle in the Rain'' (1984), ''Once Upon a Time'' (1985), '' Live in the City of Light'' (1987), '' Street Fighting Years'' (1989) and ''Glittering Prize 81/92'' (1992); they have sold more than 60 million albums. Glasgow

Mel Gaynor
Mel George Gaynor (born 29 May 1959) is a British drummer, best known as the longtime drummer for the rock band Simple Minds. Biography Gaynor was born to a Jamaican father and an Afro-Brazilian mother. He began drumming at age 11 and had his first professional engagement at age 14. After leaving the hard rock band Samson (in which he played alongside future Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson), Gaynor joined Simple Minds in 1982 as a session drummer for the '' New Gold Dream'' album (as a recommendation by record producer Pete Walsh), playing on six of the nine tracks. He later joined the band permanently for the ''New Gold Dream'' tour, as a replacement for Mike Ogletree. Except for a period (1992–97) away from the band after the ''Real Life'' tour of 1991–92, he remained the Simple Minds drummer until 2017. Mike Ogletree
Mike Ogletree (born 1 May 1956) is a Scottish drummer and guitarist of Afro-European descent. Kenny Hyslop
Kenneth John Hyslop (born 14 February 1951 in Helensburgh, Scotland) is a Scottish drummer. He joined the band Salvation with Midge Ure, which later became Slik and, after Ure's departure, some of the remaining members formed the Zones. He also went on to play with the Skids. In 1981, he joined Simple Minds, replacing Brian McGee. He contributed by recording "Promised You a Miracle" and appeared in the videos of "Sweat in Bullet" and "Love Song", from the ''Sons and Fascination'' album, which he did not appear on, but helped to promote. Following his departure from Simple Minds in 1982, Hyslop formed Set the Tone with bass player Bobby Paterson. Following the demise of Set the Tone, Hyslop formed the One O'Clock Gang which released an album on Arista Records. He went on to write songs for Les McKeown and also toured with Midge Ure on his The Gift World Tour 1985. Derek Forbes Derek Forbes (born 22 June 1956) is a Scottish bassist, vocalist, and occasional guitarist. He is mostly associated with the Scottish band Simple Minds, having joined in time to record their early demos in 1978 and stayed with the band during their rise to mainstream success and their first six albums, until leaving shortly after their 1985 hit "Don't You (Forget About Me)" (subsequently rejoining in a reduced role from 1995 to 1998). He has also played with Big Country, Propaganda, Oblivion Dust, Spear of Destiny (band), 10:51 and The Alarm, as well as leading his own projects. Career A former member of the Scottish punk band Subs, Forbes replaced Tony Donald as bassist for Simple Minds in 1978, remaining in the band for seven years and six albums before being ousted in 1985. Despite this, he remained closely associated with Simple Minds and has described them as "the band I never left."
