Simone Ciulli
Simone Ciulli (born 9 May 1986) is an Italian swimmer who competes in Paralympic S9 events. and who has been a member of the Italian National Swim Team since 2013. In August 2021, he won a silver medal at the XVI Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2020. In September 2019, he won a bronze medal at the Paralympic World Swimming Championship in London. He has also won a silver at the Mediterranean Games of Mersin in 2013 and two bronze medals at the European Championships in Funchal in 2016. Career Since birth, Ciulli has had cerebral palsy. This has caused him a half-paresis on the right side of his body and from perineuroma which is located on his right sciatic nerve. In 2012, he was introduced to the Paralympic organization and entered the world of Paralympic swimming by participating at the Italian Paralympic Swimming Championships in Pietralata, with Po.Ha.Fi. team. 2016 IPC Swimming European Championships
The 2016 IPC Swimming European Championships was an international swimming competition. It was held in Funchal, Madeira running from 30 April to 7 May. Around 450 athletes from 50 different countries attended the competition. This was the last major swimming tournament for disabled athletes prior to the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio, and acted as a qualifying event for the Rio Games. To increase the possibility of qualification for top swimmers, the championships was made an Open tournament allowing competitors from countries outside Europe to compete. Venue The Championship was staged at the Complexo Olimpico de Piscinas da Penteada, which also held the 2005 Multi-nations Youth Meet and the 2015 Winter International Masters Open. The 2014 IPC Swimming European Championships was an international swimming competition held in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, from the 4th to the 10th of August. Around 375 athletes from 35 different countries attended. The venue, the Pieter van den Hoogenband Swimming Stadium, also held the 2010 IPC Swimming World Championships. Ilaria Bianchi (born 6 January 1990) is a female Italian olympic swimmer. Biography Ilaria Bianchi participated at the 2008 Summer Olympics, she qualified for her second Olympic appearance in London 2012 and third in Rio de Janeiro 2016. At all three Olympics, she competed in the 100 m butterfly and 4 x 100 m medley relay.
