Simon Steen-Andersen
Simon Steen-Andersen (born 1976) is a Danish composer, performer, director and media artist. Biography He studied composition with Karl Aage Rasmussen, Mathias Spahlinger, Gabriel Valverde, and Bent Sørensen in Aarhus, Freiburg, Buenos Aires and Copenhagen from 1998 to 2006. Since 2008 he has taught composition at The Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus. Since 2018 he has held the position as professor in the Composition and Music Theatre department at Bern University of the Arts. In 2016 he became a member of the German Academy of the Arts, and in 2018 he was appointed as a member of The Royal Swedish Academy of Music. He currently lives in Berlin. Well known for his original and uncompromising compositions, which often exist in a grey area between artforms, he has achieved international recognition. International Rostrum Of Composers
The International Rostrum of Composers (IRC) is an annual forum organized by the International Music Council that offers broadcasting representatives the opportunity to exchange and publicize pieces of contemporary classical music. It is funded by contributions from participating national radio networks. The first Rostrum took place in 1954 and involved delegates from the German, French, Belgian and Swiss national broadcasting companies. From then until 2002 the Rostrum's sessions were held at UNESCO's headquarters in Paris, with the exception of 2000 when they were hosted by Muziek Groep Nederland and the Gaudeamus Foundation in Amsterdam. Since 2003, a rotation system has been in place, where the Rostrum is hosted every other year by Radio France and in the intervening year visits a European venue. Silesian String Quartet
The Silesian String Quartet is a string quartet founded in 1978 by the graduates of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland. Its current members are: * Szymon Krzeszowiec (violin I) * Arkadiusz Kubica (violin II) * Łukasz Syrnicki (viola) * Piotr Janosik (cello) History In 1978, graduates of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice founded the Silesian String Quartet. They participated in masterclasses with such artists as, among others, the musicians of the LaSalle Quartet, Amadeus, Juilliard, Smetana and Alban Berg string quartets. In 1993, the Silesian Quartet launched an annual chamber music festival held under the motto "Silesian Quartet and its guests". Carl Krull
Carl Krull (born 1975) is a contemporary Danish artist. Best known for his "seismic" approach to sculptural drawing and painting, Krull works in various media, including sculptural drawing (paper and ink/pencil), sculpture, printmaking, virtual reality, and digital media. An alumnus of the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts (Poland) and San Carlos Academy of Fine Arts (Mexico), he completed a Master of Fine Arts degree in 1999. Georg Friedrich Haas (born 16 August 1953 in Graz, Austria) is an Austrian composer. In a 2017 ''Classic Voice'' poll of the greatest works of art music since 2000, pieces by Haas received the most votes (49), and his composition ''in vain'' (2000) topped the list.
