Simon Hogan
Simon Hogan (born 16 August 1988) is a former Australian rules footballer for the Geelong Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). AFL career Early career Hogan was recruited from the Geelong Falcons by Geelong at pick 57 in the 2006 AFL Draft. Drafted as a feather-weight at 68 kg in 2006, he gained 11 kg by the end of the year in order to take the field. His football career was hampered due to a recurring groin injury in 2007. Despite this, he was chosen as an emergency for Geelong in 2008 but did not see the field. 2009 In 2009, after playing in the NAB Cup Premiership with the Cats, Hogan made his long-awaited senior debut in Round 2 against Richmond, but he was rested thereafter and did not play again until being a late callup in Round 14 for the crucial game against St Kilda, a match between two undefeated teams. Warrnambool Football Club
The Warrnambool Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Blues'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the city of the same name. Warrnambool teams compete in the Hampden Football Netball League, where the football squad has played since 1933. History The origins of the clubs can be traced back to 1861, when a "football" match was played in Warrnambool. The club was formed shortly after, being one of the oldest football clubs in Australia. In 1913 the club won its first premiership, playing in the Western District Football Association. Warrnambool entered into recess in 1915 due to World War I, returning to action in 1920 under the named "Warrnambool City". Geelong U18
The Geelong Falcons is a youth Australian rules football representative club in the NAB League, the Victorian statewide under-18s competition, Victoria, Australia. The club takes in talented junior players from the Geelong, Colac and Warrnambool regions in order to prepare them for AFL selection. There is an under-15 V-Line cup side and an under-16 side, but the club's main focus is its under-18 side, who play a longer season. In 2007, Jimmy Bartel became the first ex-Falcon to win the AFL Brownlow Medal, for the league's best and fairest player, while Jonathan Brown became the first ex-Falcon to win the Coleman Medal for the most goals in the season.
