Simon Fagan
Simon Fagan (born 23 May 1981) is an Irish singer/songwriter from Navan. He has been performing music since the age of 5. Simon Fagan's debut EP, ''Hired and Fired'', was released by SiAn Records in March 2009 and his debut album ''Outside Looking In'' has been recorded. Musical career Early life and breakthrough Fagan's musical career started in his parish choir at the age of 5. At 7 he was taught how to play the cornet and joined his local brass band before picking up the trumpet. He later received a musical scholarship to St. Finian's College. While in his senior year, Simon joined the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland. After school he went on to study orchestral trumpet at both the Royal Irish Academy of Music and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Navan
Navan ( ; , meaning "the Cave") is the county town of County Meath, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. In 2016, it had a population of 30,173, making it the List of urban areas in the Republic of Ireland by population, tenth largest settlement in Republic of Ireland, Ireland. It is at the confluence of the River Boyne and Leinster Blackwater, Blackwater, around 50 km northwest of Dublin. Point Theatre
The Point Theatre (sometimes referred to as the Point Depot or simply as the Point) was a concert and events venue in Dublin, Ireland, that operated from 1988 to 2007, visited by in excess of 2 million people. It was located on the North Wall Quay of the River Liffey, amongst the Dublin Docklands. The Point was closed in the middle of 2007 for a major redevelopment and underwent a rebranding as The O2 in July 2008. Prior to the redevelopment, the seated capacity was 6,300; the rebranded O2 has a fully seated only capacity of 9,000. Henry Jamison "Jam" Handy (March 6, 1886 – November 13, 1983) was an American Olympic breaststroke swimmer, water polo player, and founder of the Jam Handy Organization (JHO), a producer of commercially sponsored motion pictures, slidefilms (later known as filmstrips), trade shows, industrial theater and multimedia training aids. Credited as the first person to imagine distance learning, Handy made his first film in 1910 and presided over a company that produced an estimated 7,000 motion pictures and perhaps as many as 100,000 slidefilms before it was dissolved in 1983. Prague Philharmonic Orchestra
The Prague Philharmonic Orchestra was established in 1995, under the German conductor Friedemann Riehle. The orchestra has since produced many classical and film music recordings, working with labels such as Decca Records, Decca, EMI, Sony BMG and various international film studios. Internationally renowned soloists such as tenor Jonas Kaufmann or cellist Sol Gabetta have recorded CDs with the orchestra. The orchestra performs New Year's Eve Concerts, conducted by Riehle, and has also performed concerts at the Vienna State Opera, all major German concert halls, the Concertgebouw, Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and a special concert broadcast internationally from the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
