Silvretta
The Silvretta Alps are a mountain range of the Central Eastern Alps shared by Tirol, Vorarlberg (both in Austria) and Graubünden ( Switzerland). The Austrian states of Tirol and Vorarlberg are connected by a pass road ( Silvretta Hochalpenstraße at 2032 m). The majority of the peaks are elevated above three thousand metres and are surrounded by glaciers. Thus, the area is also known as the "Blue Silvretta". Vorarlberg
Vorarlberg ( , ; gsw, label= Vorarlbergisch, Vorarlbearg, , or ) is the westernmost state () of Austria. It has the second-smallest geographical area after Vienna and, although it also has the second-smallest population, it is the state with the second-highest population density (also after Vienna). It borders three countries: Germany (Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg via Lake Constance), Switzerland ( Grisons and St. Gallen), and Liechtenstein. The only Austrian state that shares a border with Vorarlberg is Tyrol, to the east. Piz Linard
Piz Linard is a pyramid-shaped mountain of the Swiss Alps. At 3,410 m it is the highest peak of the Silvretta mountain range. It was first climbed on August 1, 1835, by the geologist and naturalist Oswald Heer led by Johann Madutz Johann, typically a male given name, is the German form of ''Iohannes'', which is the Latin form of the Greek name ''Iōánnēs'' (), itself derived from Hebrew name ''Yochanan'' () in turn from its extended form (), meaning "Yahweh is Gracious" .... There is a legend that a man of name "Chounard" reached the summit in 1572 carrying a large golden cross; however, the cross has never been found. Partenen
Gemeinde Gaschurn-Partenen is a municipality in the district of Bludenz in the westernmost Austrian state of Vorarlberg. The two largest villages are Gaschurn Dorf (population 1083 as of 1.1.2020) and Partenen (population 376 as of 1.1.2020). Geography The center of Gaschurn lies 979 m above sea level. It is located in the Montafon valley between Gortipohl and Partenen (the latter belonging to the municipality of Gaschurn). 12.7 percent of the municipal area is forested, and 51.7 percent are alpine. The river Ill runs through the community. On the right are the Verwall mountains, and on the left the Silvretta mountain range. Fimbertal
The Fimbatal, also Fimbertal, ( rm, Val Fenga) is an alpine valley situated between the Silvretta Alps and the Samnaun Alps. The valley is drained by the Fimbabach river (''Aua da Fenga''), a tributary of the Inn basin (Trisanna) at Ischgl. The highest mountain bordering the Fimbatal is the Fluchthorn (''Piz Fenga'') (3399 m). The Fimbatal is politically divided between Austria and Switzerland. The lower northern part belongs to the Austrian state of Tyrol (municipality of Ischgl) and the upper southern part belongs to the Swiss canton of Graubünden (municipalities of Sent and Valsot). The border runs from the Paraid Naira to Piz Rots, reaching an altitude of 2122 metres at valley floor. This unusual border situation exists since the late Middle Ages. Ischgl
Ischgl () is a town in the Paznaun valley in the Austrian state of Tyrol. Its ski resort is connected with that of Samnaun across the border in Switzerland to form one of the largest in the Alps. Ischgl was a major hotspot of the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe. Ski resort Ischgl is located on the Austrian side of one of the world's largest ski areas. Its of groomed pistes are served by over 45 mechanical lifts including cable cars, gondolas, detachable chair lifts and some T-bars. Three ropeways give access to the ski area from the village: the Pardatschgratbahn, the Fimbabahn & the Silvrettabahn. Only the Fimbabahn and the Silvrettabahn have middle stations. Flüela Pass
The Flüela Pass (german: Flüelapass, rm, Pass dal Flüela, elevation ) is a high mountain pass of the Swiss Alps in Graubünden. Traditionally considered the boundary between the Albula and Silvretta Alps, the pass crosses the watershed / drainage divide between the basins of the Rivers Rhine and Danube. The pass is overlooked by the Flüela Schwarzhorn (Albula Alps) and the Flüela Wisshorn (Silvretta Alps). The Ill (all capitals: ILL) is a tributary of the Rhine in the western Austrian state of Vorarlberg. Val Sinestra
The Val Sinestra ( Romansh lit.: "left valley") is a valley of the Swiss Alps, located in the Engadin between the Silvretta and the Samnaun ranges. The valley is drained by ''La Brancla'', a tributary of the Inn basin, near Ramosch. The highest mountains in the Val Sinestra are the Muttler (3,293 m), Piz Tschütta (3,254 m) and Piz Tasna (3,179 m). The valley is approximately 10 kilometres long. The valley belongs to the municipalities of Sent and Ramosch in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. The main localities in Val Sinestra are Zuort and Vnà. Paznaun
The Paznaun () is a valley in Tyrol, Austria, leading south-west from Pians (856 m) to the Bielerhöhe (2071 m), a mountain pass at the border of Vorarlberg and Tyrol. The Paznaun is watered by the Trisanna and surrounded by the Central Eastern Alps, specifically, the mountain ranges of Verwall in the north, Samnaun in the south-east and Silvretta in the south-west.
