Silvio Amadio
Silvio Amadio (8 August 1926 – 19 August 1995) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. He directed 24 films between 1957 and 1981. His film '' Wolves of the Deep'' was entered into the 9th Berlin International Film Festival. He is known to horror film fans for directing ''Amuck!'' (1972), a giallo film starring Rosalba Neri and Barbara Bouchet, and to Commedia sexy all'italiana fans for directing some of the best Gloria Guida sex comedies of the mid 1970s. Frascati
Frascati () is a city and ''comune'' in the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital in the Lazio region of central Italy. It is located south-east of Rome, on the Alban Hills close to the ancient city of Tusculum. Frascati is closely associated with science, being the location of several international scientific laboratories. Frascati produces the white wine with the same name. It is also a historical and artistic centre. History The most important archeological finding in the area, dating back to Ancient Roman times, during the late Republican Age, is a patrician Roman villa probably belonging to Lucullus. In the first century AD its owner was Gaius Sallustius Crispus Passienus, who married Agrippina the Younger, mother of Nero. His properties were later confiscated by the Flavian imperial dynasty (69–96 AD). Consul Flavius Clemens lived in the villa with his wife Domitilla during the rule of Domitian. ''Smile Before Death'' ( it, Il sorriso della iena/ translation: ''Smile of the Hyena'') is a 1972 Italian giallo film written and directed by Silvio Amadio, and starring Rosalba Neri. Plot Marco, a bankrupt nobleman, is unhappily married to the wealthy Dorothy Emerson. Her best friend, Gianna, is his mistress. Marco murders his wife (making it appear to be suicide by slashing her throat with a shard of glass) and becomes the administrator of his wife's estate, with the proviso that Nancy, Dorothy's daughter from a previous marriage, takes over control when she turns twenty. Marco has retired to live with Gianna in a luxurious lakeshore villa. Marco's daughter Nancy contacts him to notify him that she will be taking control of her mother's estate very soon. Nancy has been living in a boarding school for years and hadn't seen her mother for a long time. ''Il medium'' () is a 1980 Italian film directed by Silvio Amadio. Production ''Il medium'' was developed due to director Silvio Amadio's interest in the occult, which he learned through his friend Demofilo Fidani. Fidani was a filmmaker who prominently worked on low budget Italian Westerns, and by the 1980s had become more known for his work in esoterism, including writing some novels on the subject. Amadio and Fidani had discussed their mutual interest in the topic since the 1970s. Among the screenwriters was Claudio Fragasso, who said he was approached by the director along with a psychic medium who told him that "the dead had told them eshould write this script." Fragasso also stated that this was the first script he had worked on, even before ''Meet Him and Die''. Plot Napoleone (Castelnuovo) is an artist bored of his married life and applies to work as a gardener at a summer mansion. On his way to Elba, he meets an attractive teenage girl (Guida) who attempts to seduce him and when he gets to the mansion, he learns that she is Paola, his employers' daughter living with her mother ( Anita Sanders) and stepfather (Silvio Amadio).
