Geography Silverdale is located in the Fassifern Valley farming area along the Cunningham Highway. The eastern boundary of Silverdale is marked by Warrill Creek, a tributary of the Bremer River. History In July 1909, a public meeting was held to discuss the opening of a school in the district; the committee believed 32 students would attend the school. Tenders were called to construct the school building in November 1909; W.C. Cowell's tender for was accepted in December 1909. Silverdale State School opened on 23 May 1910. It closed on 28 January 1963 and the students transferred to Engelsburg State School (now Kalbar State School) in Kalbar. The school was at 5382 Cunningham Highway (). The Bremer River is a river that is a tributary of the Brisbane River, located in the Scenic Rim Region, Scenic Rim and Brisbane regions of South East Queensland, Australia. The -long Bremer River drains several Scenic Rim valleys in south-east Queensland, including the Fassifern Valley, with its drainage basin, catchment area covering approximately . Cunningham Highway
The Cunningham Highway is a national highway located in south-eastern Queensland, Australia. The highway links the Darling Downs region with the urbanised outskirts of via Cunninghams Gap. The Cunningham carries the National Highway 15 shield between Ipswich and north of at its junction with the New England Highway at Glengallan where both the Cunningham and the New England head south concurrently to Warwick. Fassifern Valley is a valley of the Scenic Rim in South East Queensland. Towns found in the valley include Harrisville, Kalbar, Roadvale, Warril View and Aratula. Fassifern Valley is known as a carrot-producing area, as well as for growing potatoes, onions, pumpkins and melons. It is one of four vegetable-producing regions in southern Queensland, the others being the Lockyer Valley, the eastern Darling Downs and the Granite Belt.
