''Las Acacias'' is a 2011 Argentine drama film directed by Pablo Giorgelli. The film won the Caméra d'Or at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. Plot Rubén is a middle-aged Argentinian truck driver transporting timber between Paraguay and Buenos Aires, Argentina. One day, at a truck stop, he picks up a young Paraguayan woman, Jacinta, whom his employer had told to take to Buenos Aires. To Rubén's surprise, Jacinta brings along her five-month-old daughter, Anahí. Rubén makes little conversation at the start of the journey. At a border crossing, Jacinta tells the guard she is visiting her cousin on a three-month visa, though she later explains to Rubén her cousin will help her find a job in Buenos Aires. Fabián Bielinsky (3 February 1959 – 29 June 2006) was an Argentine film director. Career Fabián Bielinsky was born in Buenos Aires on February 3, 1959. Bielinsky started to make films early in life, while still a high school student in the Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires. At thirteen years old, he made his first short film, based on the short story ''Continuity of the Parks'' by Julio Cortázar. After graduation from high school, Bielinsky started studying psychology, a career he pursued for a short time before dropping out in favor of enrolling in the Centro de Experimentacion y Realizacion Cinematografica (CERC, actually ENERC, INCAA's film school). He graduated in 1983 with a short film called '' La espera'', based on a story by Jorge Luis Borges. The short also earned him a prize at the Huesca International Film Festival in Spain. ''The Aura'' ( es, El aura, links=no) is a 2005 neo-noir psychological thriller film directed and written by Fabián Bielinsky and starring Ricardo Darín. It is Bielinsky's second and final feature film before his death in 2006. The plot revolves around taxidermist Esteban Espinosa (Darín), an epileptic who often fantasizes about committing the perfect crime. While hunting in Patagonia, Espinosa accidentally kills Dietrich (Rodal), a guide from the area, and discovers he is in fact a criminal. This unexpectedly connects him with the chance of executing a real crime: assaulting an armored truck carrying the profits of a casino in the area. Espinosa projects into his fantasies, assembling a puzzle piece by piece, inevitably enclosing himself in it. Israel Adrián Caetano (born 1969 in Montevideo, Uruguay), known as Adrián Caetano, is an Uruguayan film director, producer and screenwriter. Biography He's often credited as Adrián Caetano. He works mainly in the cinema of Argentina and at times, he obtains funding for his films in Europe. He lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At age of sixteen, his family moved to Córdoba, Argentina. When he was older, he shot several short videos including ''Visite Carlos Paz,'' and ''Calafate''. In 1995, Caetano won a prize in a script contest he entered. The money won allowed him to film the short ''Down Hill'' (''Cuesta abajo''), his first work filmed in 35mm. '' Pizza, Beer, and Cigarettes'' (1998, co-directed with Bruno Stagnaro) followed. Juan José Campanella (born 19 July 1959) is an Argentine television and film director, writer and producer.
