Silas Lwakabamba
Silas Lwakabamba (born 1947) is a Rwandan professor of Tanzanian origin who has served as the Minister of Education of Rwanda since July 2014 until June 24, 2015. Background Silas Lwakabamba was born and educated in Tanzania. He went to the University of Leeds in England where he studied engineering, graduating with a BSc in 1971 and a PhD in 1975. He subsequently returned to Tanzania where he joined the staff of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Dar es Salaam. He attained his professorship in 1981, and later became Dean of the faculty. Vincent Biruta
Vincent Biruta (born July 19, 1958) is a Rwandan physician and politician, who is serving as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, having been appointed in November 2019. Previously, he served as the Minister for Environment in the Rwandan cabinet, since August 31, 2017. Immediately prior to his appointment to the environment docket, he served as the Minister of Natural resources, since July 24, 2014. Background and education He was born on 19th July 1958. ''The New Times'' is a national English language newspaper in Rwanda. It was established in 1995 shortly after the end of the 1994 genocide. The paper states that it is privately owned, with two shareholders. They also used to have a Kinyarwanda-language weekly called ''Izuba Rirashe''. ''The New Times'' is published in Kigali from Monday to Saturday, with its sister paper the ''Sunday Times'', appearing on Sundays. The ''New Times Online'' was launched in 2006. National University Of Rwanda
The National University of Rwanda (NUR; rw, Kaminuza nkuru y’u Rwanda, french: Université nationale du Rwanda, UNR) was the largest university in Rwanda. It was located at in the city of Butare and was established in 1963 by the government in cooperation with the Congregation of the Dominicans from the Province of Quebec, Canada. Its founder and first rector was Father Georges-Henri Lévesque. When it was established, the NUR had three divisions (Faculties of Medicine and Social Sciences, and a Teacher Training College), 51 students and 16 lecturers.
