Sikra
Sikra is a village in Bhachau Taluka of Kutch district of Gujarat, India. History Sikra was once been a large and flourishing town. The chief remains are those of a temple of Mahadev Kageshvar, where, according to the story, Dharan Vaghelo, the great grandfather of Lakha Phulani, used to come every day to worship. The ruins are overgrown with trees. A little to the south of the village, once it is said the heart of the city, is a saint's shrine, and two strong and well built Momna Kanbi tombs built in 1666 (Samvat 1723). Near the shrine is a Jain temple of solid masonry built in 1716 (Samvat 1773) and dedicated to Vasupujya. The marble image of Vasupujya, when in 1785 (Samvat 1842) threatened by the Miyanas, was taken to Adhoi. Near the temple are many memorial stones, one of them bearing as old a date as 1003 (Samvat 1060). Bhachau is a city and a municipality in Kutch district in the state of Gujarat, India. Vasupujya
Vasupujya was the twelfth tirthankara in Jainism of the '' avasarpini'' (present age). According to Jain beliefs, he became a siddha, a liberated soul which has destroyed all of its karma. Vasupujya was born to King Vasupujya and Queen Jaya Devi at Champapuri in the Ikshvaku dynasty. His birth date was the fourteenth day of the Falgun Krishna month of the Indian calendar. He never married and remained a celibate. He attained Kevala Jnana within one month of Tapsya and Moksha at Champapuri, of Bihar in India on the fourteenth day of the bright half of the month of Ashadh. Miyana (community)
The Miyana are a Muslim Rajput community found in the state of Gujarat in India. History and origin The Miyana are Rajputs who were converted to Islam during the rule of Allauddin Khilji in the thirteenth century. According to other traditions, they were Rajputs of Sindh who immigrated to Kutch during the period of Jadeja rule. Present circumstances The Miyana are found throughout Kutch and Saurashtra. They speak both Kutchi and Gujarati. The community is sub-divided into a number of clans, the main ones being Mahur, Movar, Manek, Bhatti ( Jesalmer), Jam, Dhona, Katiya, Mokha, Maman, Gagda, samtani, Ladhani, Malani, Samani, Musani, Jeda, Traya, Manka, Khod, Makwana, Sandhvani, Kajediya, Kakkal, Baidmulla.
