Sigrid Andrea Bernardo is a Filipino film director, screenwriter, producer, and actress best known for directing the highest-grossing Philippine independent film '' Kita Kita'' (2017). In 2023, she is set to direct the cross-country film of Thai superstar Metawin Opas-iamkajorn and Filipino actress-singer Janella Salvador titled '' Under Parallel Skies.'' Bernardo is a graduate of Theater Arts at the University of the Philippines and pursued a scholarship at the Tanghalang Pilipino under the Cultural Center of the Philippines. A compilation of independently produced public service announcements, the film is themed around the "present human rights situation in the Philippines". Filmmakers Sunshine Matutina and Kiri Dalena made the film to bring attention to the enforced disappearance of activist Jonas Burgos in April 2007, a case which has remained unsolved as of 2023.
