Signal To Noise (Rise Album)
''Signal to Noise'' is the first full-length album by The Rise, released in 2002. The album combines electronic beats with post-hardcore music, much like Refused did with their 1998 album, the prophetically titled, ''The Shape of Punk to Come''. It was re-released in 2005 on ReIgnition Recordings. Critical reception ''Stylus Magazine'' wrote that "it’s extremely refreshing to see a heavy band that actually cares a little bit about their dynamics and sound textures as opposed to just wanting to hit the listener over the head with E chords." The Rise was a five-piece American band from Austin, Texas. Their sound is a combination of metalcore, hardcore techno, post-hardcore and heavy metal music, metal. The band is currently signed to ReIgnition Recordings and their latest album, ''Reclamation Process (Rise Album), Reclamation Process'', was released on as a free album for subscribers of Law of Inertia, the rock mag product of Cory Killduff. on May 31, 2005. Post-hardcore
Post-hardcore is a punk rock music genre that maintains the aggression and intensity of hardcore punk but emphasizes a greater degree of creative expression. It was initially inspired by post-punk and noise rock. Like post-punk, the term has been applied to a broad constellation of groups. Ferret Music was an American independent record label turned Warner Music Group subsidiary, founded in 1996. The label is owned by NORA's vocalist, Carl Severson, and based in West Windsor, New Jersey. Ferret recently started an imprint called New Weathermen Records. Refused (also known as the Refused) is a Swedish hardcore punk band originating from Umeå and formed in 1991. Refused is composed of vocalist Dennis Lyxzén, guitarist Kristofer Steen, drummer David Sandström, and bassist Magnus Flagge.
