Sierra Del Cuera
Sierra del Cuera is an integrated network of protected areas in Asturias, Spain. The landscape stretches over an area which affects five municipalities of the region: Cabrales, Llanes, Peñamellera Alta, Peñamellera Baja and Ribadedeva. Cabrales
Cabrales is a municipality in the autonomous community of Asturias, northwestern Spain. It is situated between the Sierra de Cuera and the Picos de Europa, and is a region famous for its Cabrales cheese. Important towns within the municipality include Arenas de Cabrales, one of the primary objectives of the Battle of El Mazuco in 1937. Llanes
Llanes (the ''Concejo de Llanes'', ''Conceyu de Llanes'' in Asturian language) is a municipality of the province of Asturias, in northern Spain. Stretching for about 30 km along the coast at the extreme east of the province, Llanes is bounded to the south by the high ridge of the limestone Sierra del Cuera, which rises to over 1,100 m. The region is part of the ''Costa Verde'' (Green Coast) of Spain, which is known for its spectacular coastal scenery, with 32 white sand beaches, and mountains covered with a deep green mantle. Llanes lies to the north of the Picos de Europa, a mountain range whose geology is almost entirely of limestone karst. Peñamellera Baja
Peñamellera Baja (in Asturian language, Asturian: '' El Valle Baḥu de Peñamellera'') is a municipality in the Autonomous Community of the Principality of Asturias, Spain. It is borderered to the north by Llanes and Ribadedeva, to the west by Peñamellera Alta, and to the east and south by the Autonomous Community of Cantabria. History There have been some manifestations of Paleolithic art found in Peñamellera Baja. In La Loja cave, various stone tools were found that provides an important set of cave art corresponding to the Magdalenian age which show animal engravings such as horses and bison.
