Sie Holliday (pronounced "sigh holiday") was the radio name of Shirley Schneider (November 10, 1930 – June 23, 2006). She was a Los Angeles radio personality at KRLA 1962–76 (where she was one of the narrators of the Pop Chronicles) and KMPC 1976–78. She did student radio at the University of Texas. KRLA
KRLA (870 kHz) "AM 870 The Answer" is a commercial AM radio station broadcasting a talk radio format. Licensed to Glendale, California, it serves Greater Los Angeles and Southern California. The station is owned by Salem Media Group, which also owns 99.5 KKLA-FM which features a Christian talk and teaching format, and 95.9 KFSH-FM with a contemporary Christian music format. By day, KRLA transmits with 50,000 watts, the maximum for commercial AM stations. Since AM 870 is a clear channel frequency reserved for Class A WWL New Orleans, KRLA must reduce power at sunset to 3,000 watts to reduce interference. It uses a directional antenna with a three-tower array. The transmitter is off El Reposo Drive in Los Angeles, near the Glendale Freeway. Pop Chronicles
The ''Pop Chronicles'' are two radio documentary series which together "may constitute the most complete audio history of 1940s–60s popular music." They originally aired starting in 1969 and concluded about 1974. Both were produced by John Gilliland. The ''Pop Chronicles'' of the 1950s and 1960s Inspired by the Monterey Pop Festival, the ''Pop Chronicles'' of the 1950s and 1960s originally was produced at KRLA 1110 and first aired on February 9, 1969. John Gilliland narrated the series along with Sie Holliday and Thom Beck (pictured). Also performing interviews were Dick LaPalm, Lew Irwin, Harry Shearer, Mike Masterson, and Richard Perry. The show's brief recurring theme song "The Chronicles of Pop" was written and performed by Len Chandler. The engineer and associate producer of the series was Chester Coleman. KMPC (1540 AM, "Radio Korea", 라디오코리아) is a commercial radio station in Los Angeles, California. It is owned by P&Y Broadcasting Corporation. Radio Korea is a division of the Radio Korea Media Group. The station airs Korean–language programming, a blend of talk, news, information, and music for the largest Korean–American community in the United States, and the largest Korean community outside Korea. KMPC is one of four radio stations in the greater Los Angeles area that broadcast entirely in Korean. The others are 1190 KGBN Anaheim, 1230 KYPA Los Angeles and 1650 KFOX Torrance. KRDC (1110 Hertz, kHz) is a commercial AM radio, AM Radio broadcasting, radio station licensed to Pasadena, California, serving Greater Los Angeles as a full-time simulcast of ESPN Radio affiliate KSPN (AM), KSPN. The station is owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company and is the only remaining radio property to be owned by the conglomerate under the Walt Disney Television, ABC, Inc. subsidiary. KRDC was broadcast in the HD Radio, HD (hybrid) format until late 2014 when all Radio Disney affiliates were sold except for the Los Angeles station which returned to analog transmissions.
