The contestant from Contestants' Row who bids closest to the price of a prize without going over wins the prize and has the chance to win additional prizes or cash in an onstage game. After the pricing game ends, a new contestant is selected for Contestants' Row and the process is repeated. Six pricing games are played on each hour-long episode. Prior to expanding to one hour in length, three games per episode were played during the half-hour format. John Barrie Crump (15 May 1935 – 3 July 1996) was a New Zealand author of semi-autobiographical comic novels based on his image as a rugged outdoors man. Taken together his novels have sold more than a million copies domestically. Crump's 1986 work ''Wild Pork and Watercress'' was adapted into the 2016 Taika Waititi film '' Hunt for the Wilderpeople''. Biography Born in Papatoetoe, Auckland, Crump was the second of six children. His parents were share-milkers, and his father was regularly violent towards his wife and children. Crump worked for many years as a government deer-culler in areas of New Zealand native forest (termed "the bush"). Richie Cole (February 29, 1948 – May 2, 2020) was an American jazz saxophonist, composer, and arranger. Early life Cole was born in Trenton, New Jersey. He began to play alto saxophone when he was ten years old, encouraged by his father, who owned a jazz club in New Jersey. He was a graduate of Ewing High School, in Ewing Township, New Jersey. Cole won a scholarship from ''DownBeat'' magazine to attend the Berklee School of Music in Boston. Career In 1969, he joined drummer Buddy Rich's Big Band. After working with Lionel Hampton's Big Band and Doc Severinsen's Big Band, he formed his own quintet and toured worldwide, developing his own "alto madness" bebop style in the 1970s and early 1980s.
