Sicaria Sound
Sicaria Sound were an electronic music duo composed of Lou Nour and Sancha Ndeko. History Lou Nour (FKA Imbratura) was born and raised in London with full Moroccan heritage. Sancha Ndeko is South-Sudanese and English and was born in Sheffield, grew up in Ghana and Nigeria before moving back to the UK to live in Bournemouth prior to settling in London. Having met at the back of a lecture hall at university where they were both studying Geography, they bonded over Fabric nightclub as well as their joint love for bass heavy music, particularly dubstep. They began attending nights together, which they have stated as being seminal in creating the foundations for Sicaria Sound. Whilst living together, they started to learn how to mix. After university they both worked in radio production. Fabric (club)
Fabric (stylized as fabric) is a nightclub in Farringdon, London, England. Founded in 1999 on Charterhouse Street opposite Smithfield Market, the club was voted World Number 1 Club in DJ Magazine's "Top 100 Clubs Poll" in 2007 and 2008 and ranked World Number 2 in 2009, 2010 and 2017. Fabric was closed down and its licence was revoked by Islington Council in 2016, after two drug-related deaths at the club. Following a campaign to save the club it was permitted to be reopened with increased security and restrictions. History The club was founded by Keith Reilly and Cameron Leslie and opened on 29 October 1999. Fabric occupied the renovated space of the Metropolitan Cold Stores. Dubstep is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in South London in the early 2000s. Deep Medi Musik is a British dubstep label founded in 2006 by artist Mala. The label describes the common theme between releases as “music that you can feel”. Boomtown (also known as Boomtown Fair) is a British music festival held annually on the Matterley Estate in South Downs National Park, near Winchester, Hampshire. It was first held in 2009 and has been held at its current site since 2011. Its diverse line-up of bands, DJs and speakers perform on many different stages each a part of a district with its own individual theme. Each yearly event is known as a Chapter and expands on the story line from the previous year, told through the sets, live actors and many forms of alternate reality games. Outlook Festival
Outlook Festival is a musical event, started as a subsidiary of Leeds event SubDub, hosting all kinds of bass music. Previously, the festival was held just outside the city of Pula, Croatia. However, the coming of a new era for the festival has approached with a relocation to Tisno, Croatia for Outlook Origins 2020. Although held in Croatia, many of the attendees come from the United Kingdom as do much of the team involved in organizing the festival, however there is a large global following for the festival. Previously held in Fort Punta Christo and the surrounding beaches, the festival is unique in its setting, with sound systems and stages being erected in various tunnels and even the moat of the abandoned ruins. Atlas Electronic
Atlas Electronic is a Moroccan-Dutch organization that organizes an annual music festival in Marrakesh. Its members operate from Morocco and the Netherlands, aiming to support various organizations and their projects in Morocco; according to '' The Guardian'', it focuses on "underground music and cross-cultural collaborations". It was founded by Karim Mrabti, who grew up in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Rinse FM is a London-based community radio station, licensed for "young people living and/or working within the central, east and south London areas". It plays garage, grime, dubstep, house, jungle, UK funky and other dance music genres popular in the United Kingdom.
